Discuss the new Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim trailer here! (THREA

Pauldrons are seperate, the theif is wearing what looks like steel or iron pauldrons on cloth or leather armor.

Don't forget that the dual-wielding warrior didn't wearing any pauldron whatsoever while wearing the same iron/leather cuirass that we've seen many times before. Also, I think the 'x'-shaped straps are attached to pauldron.

1:25 . Come on now,lets be serious.

Water isn't the best I've seen but it's still gorgeous. However, what I think you fail to see here is the entirety of things. What they do with the assets they have to their disposal. I've NEVER EVER seen such vibrant and detailed scenery as in this trailer. The rapids, the birch wood, the dragon flying over the valley in the end. Simply breathtaking.

It's something most companies tend to ignore, simple as that. I'm glad my favourite studio always keeps atmosphere and immersion in high regard when designing!

Hopefully it won't take too long for some mods to come out to fix the low res textures and that water.

While we're hoping let's also hope that the PC version doesn't cost 60 dollars on Steam (seriously wtf) and that this game isn't all combat and dragon slaying. Please let this be like Morrowind and not a dud like Oblivion.

Seriously, even Morrowind has better water than the one at 1:25 ...

Which exactly is the one at 1:25? For me 1:25 is the part in the cave where the guy is using the staff and sword. So far the worst water I've seen is from the rapids/river. Morrowind does have better water than Oblivion on the 360, so if Skyrim's water is anything like Oblivions it'd be bad.

Anyway, during the fight with the AoE fire spell, I noticed there was water flowing down from a part of the cave, looks quite cool. I'm hoping there'll be rain, and hopefully something like Gothic 4 where the world actually becomes wet from the rain.

I take back what I said. The water looks great.

I think what the problem is with the wolf is that he looks like he's moving in slow motion just a bit. I think if they sped it up a little it would look just fine.

Now that is impressive lighting!

The real-time self-shadowing is amazing also. :celebration:

I'm not going to pre order it until some place puts it as a reasonable price. Who in their right mind would pay 60 dollars for a game? EA and Blizzard are trying to sell games for 60 bucks on STEAM now. How moronic is that? They see that lowering the price on steam gets them big sales! So what do they do? Jack up the price? Even when they don't have to pay distribution costs? It's asking for piracy.

I think $60 for an epic TES game is an incredible deal. I personally know I'll be enjoying this game for YEARS, just as I have with the previous games, so I think $60 is nothing. What I hate is paying $60 for a game that I end up beating in a day and getting no replay value out of. But for TES, I wouldn't hesitate to pay that price. And I won't hesitate to pay it again for the GOTY edition and anything else that comes out.

Good lord those textures look AWFUL close up. The ground, the water, UGH. And this is the BEST Bethesda can put together for a trailer mind you, these aint getting better.

Hey guys, new to the forums...

What I wanted to say after the trailer was AAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaAAAAAAAAAAA... Absolutely love every second of it :D

But I just wanted to add, regarding the water effects at 1:25, it looks like a river or something and the water in the river seems to be flowing, which would be a new thing not only to the TES series but to the whole gaming industry. Water that moves is a million times harder to make than still water and, while it looks unconvincing so far, there is no doubt they will polish it up.

This will be the best game ever :D

Games have been 50 dollars for many many many years. There's no reason to push it up to 60, not even for an ES game. Especially when we have no idea if it'll be good or not.
