That's really what you think? Todd already said they aren't doing better graphics for the PC version. He said he'll let us put the game in a higher res and that's it. Same as Oblivion. Look at 360 Oblivion and PC Oblivion? What's the difference? There is none.

As I said before, the PC versions actually SHIPPED with an entirely higher texture resolution. Seriously, just look at both of them upclose for a change, like 30 cm away from the monitor.

It was filmed on the 360 because they build the game on the 360 first then move any additions over to the other platforms.

Actually, I think they build it on the PC first [hence the "Creation Kit"] and then port that to the consoles.

Here's what I liked...

1) The camera shake when running and the breathing.
2) The visible breath (cold weather)
3) The dragon shout
4) The blood getting on the character
5) The music

Here's the negatives that I saw...

........... . . . . . .

yeah i love the blood gettin on the character, much more realistic. Looks like they borrowed the idea off dragon age though lolz.

So, can we expect cutscenes from the third person perspective? If so, are you excited or put off?

I think, if there are 3rd person cutscenes, I'm a little against it. Something that I liked about Oblivion was that everything was first person (unless you made it 3rd person), but if they're gonna have a dynamic 3rd person camera during cutscenes...meh.

Other than that, hand-to-hand (sword-to-sword?) combat looks great (so far). I'm hoping that the stabbing animation isn't a quick time event. If they swing and you parry it then do a lunge attack, yeah, that's cool, cause that would happen. But I don't want buttons/keys to appear on the screen to tell me what I have to do.

Oh gawd...

Could someone from Beth just get it over with and JUST say something like "Yes, PC will look better / have higher res textures and/or more options" or something like that for al those crybabies ?

Because reading 99% BS about how the water looks, or how the texture in the background behind 3 piles of rocks in the dark under the moonlight with grass on it look bad and all really is getting on my nerves.

Now, off to watch the trailer again in slowmo for the 35th time to see if I can catch some interesting details.

No. He actually said the exact opposite of that.

From the Game Informer Skyrim podcast

41:02 Will there be an X64 version for PC players? High resolution textures (will they have to be modded in?) Do you have a dedicated group for the PC version?

"We work on it together. The main thing for people to know is our background is PC games. The game is authored here on PCs. That's what we work on. A lot of the team is playing the game on PC all day. We do want the platforms to each have a really, really high level of fidelity. I personally play a lot on the Xbox. It tends to be my preferred platform. We do a lot of graphics development still FIRST on the Xbox, just because it's smoother. And then a lot of that stuff does go over to the PC. We tend to do as much as we can as the project goes on, because we want to support as wide a range as possible. We also tend to do that stuff late, because right now we want to work on the main game and how it plays and getting the graphics fast everywhere, and then as the project gets closer to release we start supporting all those other things. You'll definitely be able to run the PC on a much higher resolution. All of our games that we've done so far - Morrowind, Oblivion, Fallout - the PC versions have higher res textures they ship with by default. A lot of times you don't notice that, because when you play a console game you're sitting six to ten feet away from the screen. Whereas on the PC, you're sitting a foot, two feet away from the screen. Those kinds of differences in texture resolution, you don't notice unless you're looking at two screenshots on a computer and flipping between them. We are gonna support that stuff. I can't say how far. But the same thing with the interface. We do a lot of PC interface stuff. There are uniquenesses [sic] to how we handle it on the PC."

So there you have it. Everyone is happy. PC guys win. Console guys win.

I think people are just insane. The texture work looks top notch. Maybe not Crysis good, but easily on par with other AAA games. And there are going to be 20x as many textures in this game compared to those. The water looks great, especially those waterfalls in the caves.

I don't know what people were expecting. We saw the screens. We knew this was going to be released on current consoles. Yet people are complaining that the game doesn't look completely different from the media already released? That's called living in fantasy land. By the standards of almost every other game getting released this year, Skyrim looks jawdropping.

Sure, its based on current generation console. We are not saying it looks different from the media already released, those too suffer from the same flaws the video does.
http://media.moddb.com/cache/images/mods/1/9/8871/thumb_620x2000/58409.jpg That's oblivion, Skyrim actually textures looks worse than a mod pack that was made by fans.
I do not follow Beth logic, releasing a video using a inferior(in terms of GPU power) system to promote their games. This is their games though, they can do whatever they want.
I do hope textures in the PC version have better resolution than that.

Thanks, maybe that'll calm those graphic[censored]s down a bit.

Now, what I would LOVE to see confirmed, is the head bobbinb and sorta body awareness stuff (well, we don't see the feet and rest of the body and all but still) we see at the beginning of the trailer.
Because, frankly, that adds a LOT to the immersion IMHO.

Damn! Really surprised that's all done on the 360. The folks who put that together - now would be a good time to hit Todd up for a pay rise!

What's strange is that out of all the awesome action sequences and shots, I really loved most that people were just doing ordinary everyday things in some shots, or like the old girl hanging over her gate in the street, like she just wants to pass the time gossiping. Looks like the game'll have more atmosphere that way, none of this wall-staring from Oblivion. The narrator was pretty epic too, his voice is familiar, can't place it at the moment though.
