Discuss the new Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim trailer here! (THREA

Thank god people can finally stop complaining about the damn shadows! I noticed how the people that said in every screen shot "There are no shadows" haven't swallowed theeir pride and said something about it.

Everything looked great guys :celebration: hopefully you guys can get the water in the fast moving river to look better, but hey will how the gameplay mechanics look i won't complain about the water. And yes when your character is running it does look a little bouncey, but have you ever been at full sprint and it didn't look like that?

PS-The trailer will hold us off for about two days and there will be threads like "I have to have more info!!!" lol

Watched it and was overwhelmed creating tears in my eyes which i then tried to get rid of so they wouldn't blur the epicness i was watching.

Just because the camera angles were more cinematic and the dragon-fight very... coordinated... doesn't mean at all it's not real-time rendering from in-game.

As A compairison from blizzard to Bethesda im sure that could be actual game graphics

blizzard uses good cinematic that look nothing like the game at all

Bethesda most likely uses actual game graphics i could be wrong though if im right then there just all the more awesome

With the console in Oblivion, tfc would toggle a free-flying camera not bound to the player at all. And cinematic sequences can be done with that, despite the fact that it's still in-game.

Oh, I understand about the camera thing. It's just the Dragon flying in the end and the while fight. To me, it seems a little too choriographed to be real. it's POSSIBLE it's in game, but I dunno, something seems...off.

Oh hey, I didn't realize that the rest of the site got a makeover too. The Morrowind page looks nice.

Forgive me, but I as well as a lot of people are having trouble beleving this? Would you care to show any proof if there is? I mean, it's obvious the cameras were done, and if you will forgive me for saying so, it just seems too perfect a trailer to be in game. And if it is NOT in game, just say so. Really, with all the other work in game, noone will hate you except for the original lie.

Hm why would the devs lie to us? And what do you mean proof? How about they are they ones who made they video, i am pretty sure they know what they did. If you can't trust the devs than idk what to tell you. When a dev comes in here and says something, normally it is believed and they don't need proof because they are the proof. Whatever they say goes lol.

Yes, this footage is from the 360.

EDIT: And yes, all footage besides the wall is in-game.

OK, I am eating crow now. Everything I said about substandard graphics, I will admit I am wrong about. This on the 360? MY GOD. This will only mean the PC version will only get better.

Now how about the PS3? Can it be improved since the PS3 has better technology to deal with? I will be getting it for the 360, just curious if I need a PS3 copy as well.

I must have watched that trailer 30 or so times now. I haven't been this pumped by a trailer since the Lord of the Rings movies. I can't wait to see more of this game.

So since it's all in-game footage, does that mean when our character gets close to a ledge he will do the same thing as he did in the trailer?

The Biggest thing in the trailer for me is that it was filmed on a xbox 360.
I can't wait till they release this trailer in HD on Xbox live so I can download it and truely see it on my 52 inch LCD.
This game is guarinteed to be Game of the Year if it looks and plays like that.

I think that's a woman, not only a woman but a woman with a mostly exposed back...the armor seems to be very different this time for genders! No more just adding boobs :P

I don't see any armor at all for the torso. I just see a strap for the quiver and pauldrons. I can't really tell if that's a woman.

It just seems like something's not right to me. Hey, maybe I'm wrong and it IS all in game, in which case it will be epic. But something seems off to me.

And I don't know what could be used as proof. maybe the fight images and video he used from a First person Perspective or something? No idea.

The Frost Spiders look massive.

Can't wait to have the crap scared out of me.

It's the camera angles, dude.

It's all in-game.

Ok, my wishing for weighty and meaningful melee combat has FINALLY been answered with this game. I haven't been this excited about a video game, because of a trailer, in my whole experience in gaming. The graphics, music, melee combat, magic combat, environments, etc were the best I've seen in any game to date. Thanks Bethesda for making me wish my life away for November 11th to get here.

By the way, I had been a little skeptical about the finishing moves and stealth attacks being truly satisfying. After this trailer, I am now hushed. Cutting throats in the shadows? Actually being able to stab people with swords? And my goodness, the axe to the head! Ouch! You could actually feel the weight of the swords and axes in that trailer. Don't mind if I do....

Consider me absolutely stoked... no game this year will be able to satiate my desires for Skyrim.

Ooh!!! I am really getting the old Morrowind nostalgia feeling now. Even thought a lot of things about Oblivion was good, I felt like the empire really wasn't itself when the Roman(ish) armour of the imperial legion was changed to late medieval knight armour. If you watch the guard in the small town the PC is walking through the guard has armour looking quite a lot like the Roman legion armour from the first battle in Gladiator.

You can. I clicked on HD and it installed on my laptops hard drive. Now I can watch in on the 360.

It might be due to the fact we are only seeing part of the whole fight. I was watching it slowly and noticed some obvious cuts that I couldn't see when playing at full speed. That could be why it looks more, dare I say, polished?

Either way, I've already blocked out my calendar from 11.11.11 to the end of time...mind=blown.

I am absolutely amazed with the trailer. The graphics- especially with the draw distance- are even better than I expected. What really impressed me though was how the NPCs seem so lifelike now. The scene with the wind mill and the guys cutting wood looked so lifelike and believable!

Thank you Bethesda!
