Pause at 1:46, right before the spider. There's a hooded character creeping through some nice looking ruins. BUT WAIT. Anyone really reminded of Dwemer artifacts from Morrowind by those gold pipes?

Indeed. I can't wait to see what technological secrets we shall find! Overall, BGS has done a fantastic job of keeping environments unique and different. Say bye to the randomly generated meadows and cookie cutter dungeons of Oblivion. Say hello to SKYRIM!

I was redirected to here, so I'm just going to copy and paste what I originally posted:

I came home about 2 hours and 30 minutes ago, having spent the whole day ecstatically waiting to get home to see the trailer, and I thought it looked amazing, except for the running water, but I can live with that. Anyway, the shadow of the dragon and the scene where the PC is running through the snow-covered forest looked especially amazing and if that was a Nord, I think I may have to give a Nord character a chance after all because that voice sounded much better than the goofy voices of Nords in previous games, in my opinion (I hated those old voices). I guess that's to be expected with the Nordic province being the game's setting, as I thought Dark Elves and Imperials (the males, anyway) sounded great in the games taking place within their home provinces, but not too great outside of those games. Anyway, the new Nordic male voice (again, assuming that was a Nord) sounds powerful and booming, which are the qualities which makes me love playing as a male Imperial in Oblivion as much as I do. Also, the shadow of the dragon was just plain amazing, in my opinion. Most shadows I see have jagged edges and that forest scene just looked incredible, but here is where a question and a concern come into play. That shadow looked too good to be anything that would run on a PS3, and I'm comparing that shadow to all other shadows I've ever seen on a PS3 game. It looks better than all of them, even Final Fantasy XIII's (which amazed me with its shadows). Do we know whether that video was shot on a PC or not? That shadow and the general quality of those graphics seemed too good to be something that would run on a PS3 and I'm worried the graphics won't be that good when I actually play the game for myself. I'm genuinely stunned by how amazing those graphics look.

On another note, the animations look good... surprisingly good for a Bethesda game. Pretty much everything impressed me, except for the running water. Could that really be a placeholder as people say? I like that moves instead of staying still as in past Elder Scrolls game, but it just doesn't seem to match the quality of the rest of the video, in my opinion. The waterfall in that one settlement (Markath Side?) looks nice and the still water I saw from a distance looked good, but that running water was kind of :meh: and I didn't see any fish jumping out of it as GameInformer claimed there would be. It's a minor nuisance, but I'm more surprised about how poor it looks in comparison to everything else more than disappointed in it, really. Other than that, though, it (the trailer) looks great, in my opinion... too great. Again, I really want to know if that's what the game will look like when I place it in my PS3 or if that's the PC version. It looked like that shadow was under the influence of anti-aliasing, to me.

The video was all Xbox 360 footage.

Honestly, I am VERY impressed with what I've seen. The animations are TOP notch, and the darker, grittier feel is just perfect (And reminds me a LOT of Morrowind. Dat Dwemer ruin), and the combat looks visceral. I really enjoyed seeing the NPCs doing things like mining, playing music...getting assassinated. The graphics not only look amazing, they look very complimentary to how the game is supposed to play and FEEL. They are an extension of the underlying game framework.

I have ONE beef with the trailer. The water. Its flat. Its bland. I don't like it. Maybe its just that waterfall, as I didn't have any issues with the ocean that I saw. Those rapids just look very flat and plastic-y.

What's up with that one spell where the player combines it with two hands? It looks like a fire spell but looks like a small orange glowing ball just kind of hanging in the air? Its in the scene near the end of the trailer with the pc being approached by some skeletons...

The only way they could make it "better" is to spam splashing water sprites everywhere. Realistic rapids are not plausible this gen.

Just watched the trailer for the 40th time or so :D One thing people haven't really commented on is the dragons, they look fantastic !!! Whoever did the model for the dragons congrats because they are not a easy creature to animate (having tried myself and failed many times) they have many moving parts and also need to look graceful while flying and menacing when on land! I think Bethesda did a an amazing job, they look quite fearsome it made me want to hide behind a very large rock :)

Thankyou Bethesda for releasing this, it looks fantastic, a masterpiece if you will, I can see myself sinking many hundreds of hours into Skyrim :)

Most likely its the same spell equipped twice (once in each hand) and cast at the same time for "devastating effect", as Game Informer so put it.

Was it just hanging there in the air or was it about to be cast and it just switched to the next scene?

Depends. If they took our ideas, then perhaps you can "overcast" a spell (holding the spell to charge it up, but costing more magicka and potentially blowing up in your face), or perhaps casting a double spell takes additional time.

It was in the process of being cast, if you watch it you can see a little focused center, and a circular aura beginning to tighten around it.

Thank you! I was wondering if I was just seeing things but I kept rewinding it and thought it was pretty funny. Skeleton just points at the pc with its weapon like taunting him.

Check out the Altmer at about 1:32. Freaky and wierd, just the way I like 'em. :D

Also, the remixed Morrowind theme makes me giddy like a schoolgirl backstage at a Justin Bieber concert.

The stone head in the forest is pretty cool too. I really like the town/city shot where the one npc lady is leaning and there's a guard in roman looking armor. The atmosphere is amazing with the water mill to the left and the lighting and the architecture.

Yeah, there are several of those armoured guys in the trailer... They don't look like Nords to me. I wonder if maybe the newly-homeless Imperials are taking advantage of the Nordic civil war?
Also, pulled a new avatar from the trailer... Sooooo excited.

Wow, I was not visiting the forums for a while now and then, the one time I decided to check again, a new trailer is out! It's gorgeous and I LOVE the music!

Thanks for the new trailer. And, thanks to all of the fans who took the time to put up the pics! :woot: Can't wait for this game! :flamethrower:

EDIT: Hey, I'm not sure if this has been discussed, but... was that an Argonian in the sword-fight pic, or is that a trick of the eyes?
