I loved the trailer to death, but if it is in-game, the main character guy has a weapon in both hands and uses a dragon shout, so does that mean there will be no more grabbing objects?

there is nothing to complain about in the trailer. mostly because not much was shown. dragons, mill, a sword and shield, etc. not much content was shown. we mostly saw how the game is going to look. it looks beyond my minimal expectations so thats good for me. but I still want to know if it means we'll get less content because of graphics/whatever.

the game isn't even done yet so any possible missing content. I'll complain in ernest when SK comes out and the game is done and I know there won't be any changes.

I know, I wasn't complaining. All I was saying was that it looks like the pessimists on this forum will get proven wrong. :D

I'm actually shocked that BGS didn't show rain in the first gameplay/in-engine trailer for Skyrim!

Rain is one of the things that BGS does exceptionally well.

Don't forget my images :icecream:

http://img819.imageshack.us/g/skyrim1.jpg/

Probably the best quality, taken from the 1080p downloaded trailer, and meticulously edited to look marginally better. 30 images, 1280 x 715.

Thanks for that, I especially love this screenshot http://img171.imageshack.us/f/skyrim4.jpg/ Look at the fantastic lighting and the view distance, also love the way the village extends onto the rock outcrop above :D

In the scene towards the end where the pc is forming a fire spell with both hands is that one skeleton or whatever it is pointing at the pc? Seems like the skeleton on the left points out towards the pc with its weapon in its right hand I think?

I just watched it for like the 5th time myself and my son his first. He is stoked. He loves it. Things I have noticed. The beging is like watching a movie with the black bars on top and bottom. So I believe this is all scripted, and once the Dragon Born gave his Dragon Shout, the black bars went away, and I am sure these are the actual game play and not scripted.

It looked great on my HDTV, and yes it will be a beaut to play on a big HDTV.

I saw the river again, while not bad, I guess we are spoiled from Bethesda. It doesn't look frozen or anything like that. Maybe it's the limit of the 360, but I can live with it, because everything else is so spectacular on the HDTV. I saw water in another spot, and yeah water is not the strong point in Skyrim. Hopefully this will be our own complaints.

Watching it on HDTV, I am even more impressed, now knowing this was from the 360, and can't wait.

The music is so over the top. Also dislike how they're made a new arrangement of the Oblivion portion.

The footage looks very cool, I just hope that's what it actually looks like ingame!

So was that a staff in his left hand and a sword in the right hand and he fired of the staff? Cool. I like what I am seeing.

Since it has been said, that all the stuff shown except for the wall, and flying is in the game. So does that mean we get the awsome 3rd person view combat moves as well. So would these be the "finishing" moves people are talking about?

For some reason I don't quite feel like playing Dragon Age origins at the moment now. Really Morrowind has hightened my standards in gaming and seeing the trailer as reaffirmed my suspicion that Skyrim will do just the same. The trailer it self I think was the equivalent and on par with that of the Deus Ex H.R. trailer only RPG fantasy, liked in particular the part showing the dragon shout and the expanded themes.

I was mostly adressing what u said about complainers. I am one of those (i want) spears, more weapons and armor, more guilds... etc. and will complain if whatever of those in that list isn't present. because there is no reason for them not to be other than laziness and pandering to streamliners who don't care as long as its a 20 hour beauty peice that they trade for the next game. like I said, don't know until it comes out. the reason some people are going nuts about those *spears* is because they have been consequitively (sp) ignored.

I was redirected to here, so I'm just going to copy and paste what I originally posted:

I came home about 2 hours and 30 minutes ago, having spent the whole day ecstatically waiting to get home to see the trailer, and I thought it looked amazing, except for the running water, but I can live with that. Anyway, the shadow of the dragon and the scene where the PC is running through the snow-covered forest looked especially amazing and if that was a Nord, I think I may have to give a Nord character a chance after all because that voice sounded much better than the goofy voices of Nords in previous games, in my opinion (I hated those old voices). I guess that's to be expected with the Nordic province being the game's setting, as I thought Dark Elves and Imperials (the males, anyway) sounded great in the games taking place within their home provinces, but not too great outside of those games. Anyway, the new Nordic male voice (again, assuming that was a Nord) sounds powerful and booming, which are the qualities which makes me love playing as a male Imperial in Oblivion as much as I do. Also, the shadow of the dragon was just plain amazing, in my opinion. Most shadows I see have jagged edges and that forest scene just looked incredible, but here is where a question and a concern come into play. That shadow looked too good to be anything that would run on a PS3, and I'm comparing that shadow to all other shadows I've ever seen on a PS3 game. It looks better than all of them, even Final Fantasy XIII's (which amazed me with its shadows). Do we know whether that video was shot on a PC or not? That shadow and the general quality of those graphics seemed too good to be something that would run on a PS3 and I'm worried the graphics won't be that good when I actually play the game for myself. I'm genuinely stunned by how amazing those graphics look.

On another note, the animations look good... surprisingly good for a Bethesda game. Pretty much everything impressed me, except for the running water. Could that really be a placeholder as people say? I like that moves instead of staying still as in past Elder Scrolls game, but it just doesn't seem to match the quality of the rest of the video, in my opinion. The waterfall in that one settlement (Markath Side?) looks nice and the still water I saw from a distance looked good, but that running water was kind of :meh: and I didn't see any fish jumping out of it as GameInformer claimed there would be. It's a minor nuisance, but I'm more surprised about how poor it looks in comparison to everything else more than disappointed in it, really. Other than that, though, it (the trailer) looks great, in my opinion... too great. Again, I really want to know if that's what the game will look like when I place it in my PS3 or if that's the PC version. It looked like that shadow was under the influence of anti-aliasing, to me.

Spontaneous answer: WOOOOOOOOW...

Points of interest:
- More fluid movement is YEY. 1:41 and forward specifically, after target seeking wolves this is LOVE for my eyes!
- Fighting dragons as a melee guy by slashing at them while doing fly-bys could definately be a nice concept, I hope that was something not just for the cinematic

And generally awesome. Weeeeee!

I loved the music, so did my son. He goes, Hey Oblivion. I liked how they put the begining of Morrowind and Oblivion in the middle of the sound track. I like when there is
refrences from prior games.

I wonder where the fishy stick refrence is going to be hidden this time.

Yea the pc is shooting the staff at nothing though? There is no enemy. And the flying part is just from the dragons point of view. They show the player running and then the dragon hunting its prey (which is you). That's not the player actually flying.

Maybe the staff is non-combat? like some kind of light orb that sticks to the wall or something of that sort/

I doubt it. They probably just wanted to show the thing along with the pretty cave without having to bother with getting monsters in the exact right position to be hit. :P
