Wow, just had my first (Hopefully not last) Skyrim dream today! :) I remember I was thinking I had to try and block while being a spell/sword to see if it were true that you could't block LOL!

When I first watched the trailer it was in low-quality. And at the part with the snow troll the bird flying in the air literally looked identical to a cliff racer.

I absolutely love this screenshot ..

http://throwmeaway.i...4_trailer#G4aLM

Its perfect, I love the lighting, I love the great view distance, I love the way there are buildings and a castle on top of the rock outcrop, and there are even a few birds flying about! :goodjob: I can imagine my Ranger sitting up on the keep watching the sun come up over the ocean :) Wow... just wow! :tops: Anyone else agree?

Trailer was awesome, and combined with all the planned changes and improvements compared to Oblivion (revamped leveling system, no more over-the-top level scaling, awesome Norse art direction as opposed to generic fantasy nonsense, improved engine, visuals, faces and animations, etc.)....

I'm really looking forward to this game. I think gamesas learned its lesson after Oblivion, and Morrowind will finally see a worthy successor. I'll be playing a Dunmer in Morrowind's honor when Skyrim releases.

I find it funny how everyone was complaining that the graphics svcked and now they see video they're all like "There's no way you could do something that good on 360!".

It's much better than that lameass Oblivion trailer. Some things that were going through my head.

-I reckon this http://img576.imageshack.us/img576/1102/skyrim3.jpg is probably Whiterun, going by this concept art piece. http://cdn.zenimax.com/akqacms/files/tes/concept_art/WhiterunCityTundra.jpg Also, it totally reminds me of Edoras http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20100325163860/lotr/images/thumb/2/2e/Edoras.jpg/830px-Edoras.jpg from LOTR.
-I think the environment type where the wolf is is volcanic tundra
-The Altmer or possibly tall Bosmer in the bar looks much more interesting than the Oblivion version.
-I will be amazed if those dragon fights do not have at least some preset animations.
-The city on the rock arch may be Solitude, and is also possibly a later design of this image. http://www.thedragonborn.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/concept1.png
-New combat and magic moves look amazing
-I see a Dwemer ruin

Almost 11000 likes in less than a day?
That's incredible.

This trailer might hit the record for likes and views for any game trailer on youtube.
It shows how many people are so affected by it that they just have to press the like button :D

Skyrim is going to walk on top of other games in 2011, and crush them :celebration:

I love seeing the stealth kill animation. Looks like no more sneaking up behind someone, stab them with a dagger, and watch them go flying in a rag doll animation. Also was that a spell when the guy slams his fist into the ground and everything explodes?

Looks like I'll be bying myself a new computer at some point.
I really liked the looks of that trailer. Some awesome changes on their way it seems.

Oblivion was quite a disappointment for me after Morrowind so let's hope Skyrim will be able to keep me playing for years like Morrowind did.

So, no cloth and hair physics then. Oh well, didn't really expect it either. Also, animations look much better, but it still seems very stiff. Suppose Bethesda will never be great at animations. Look at the segment where the player aims at the wolf, animations of the wolf doesn't look very good. Still seems as though he's kinda floating.

the part where the dragon's soul was absorbed made my hair stand up, pretty awe inspiring, but 70% of that scene is the music.

"Glad people got to finally see some Skyrim animation in this trailer. All that dragon stuff actually happens dynamically in-game."

that means it's not scripted? that's pretty impressive... (you can slash a low flying dragon and have him collapse like that? sweet)

General observations:
- Cities seem more packed and lifelike than Oblivion
- Many places have natural boundaries (surrounding mountains mostly) which gives a more morrowind feel. (Possible means to limit the draw distance on consoles)
- Landscapes seem harsher than Oblivion and the fog adds to the fantasy feeling
- Gore level suggests more mature themes
- Weapon textures seem pretty high res
- Water needs a little work
- Windows are illuminated (not transparent)
- Branches move (not sure though if they move according to the wind, or they have a looping animation)
- Rocks are good looking
- I noticed some self shadows on that fellow with the club
- No destructible environments (that was to be expected)
- A lot more combat moves -> combat variation
- No body hair (?)
- Inside ambient lights (?)
- Caves seem to have a lot of water, internal rivers, even waterfalls
- Tavern is the one from the screenshot we got a while back. I see a lot of bruma influences.
- Possible zombie decapitation on the mace face bash. If it's not, that zombie puts asian acrobats to shame with its flexibility.
- That dragon has a pretty detailed mouth but only 12 teeth? he's borderline toothless
- Motion blur
- That scene at the start were we see from the dragon's eyes while he flies, got me excited about dragon mounts for a moment... too bad it's confirmed there won't be any.
- Low res textures in a lot of places.

If I were bethesda I would focus on the water, it seems sub par. Especially as it seems the game uses it a lot.

I'm sure they will polish the games looks off a lot more before release

That concept art for Whiterun really reminds me of the way Edinburgh, Scotland looked in the 15th century.

http://www.edinphoto.org.uk/0_MAPS/0_map_edinburgh_1460.jpg

Here's what it looked like a couple hundred years later. You can still see the Old Town leading up to the castle on the rock, though Edinburgh had expanded beyond the hill by this point.

http://www.edinphoto.org.uk/1_map/1_map_edinburgh_1649.htm#picture

Here's a painting of the castle. It looks more like the imposing nature of the castle than any photo I can find. Which is odd.

Yes, water looks a bit off. Would have thought water had particle effects, but it doesn't seem like it. The mist seems to be made of particles though. That's a good thing! No more DX9 based fog with clipping issues!
Still very worried about the animations..

it's been confirmed offensive spells have various forms depending on usage/mixing/perks/stuff, so yeah that was probably some variant of the fire spell.
