Discussion on Lichdom

Post » Sun Dec 19, 2010 9:07 am

Shouldn't the gained power of the lich state, eventually corrupt their minds? by the facts you gave me it seems they kept to the same goal forever, with the same sanity, but I don't know, humanity have always been corrupted by power, the more they have the worse.

Corrupted by power, Ha! It has always been humanity's objective to use power for selfish ends. The purpose of power is to advance the self.

I'd argue that liches actually don't experience any corruption to their minds. A lich still has their old morals, as shown by Barilzar and Aesliip. Of course, one thing you have to realize is that Random lich #55 may never have been of "good moral character." He may have been one of the meanest people on Tamriel before going Lich. Hell, morals change. That Lich may have simply changed his mind about what he thinks is right and wrong.

why should luck be raised?

In my perspective, luck is the attraction of good things, so if you do good things you get good things.
The lich is the opposite of that

luck is luck neither good nor evil. Only chance.

Oh, and he have like 100 on Luck.

100? More like 1000. Then again, a bunch of MW characters were cheaters.

EDIT: @Wizzy, Because your avatar looks like a Tzeentchian, you are now my immortal enemy. Though, on your topic, immortality does change a person, whether they look like like V-man or a smelly dead body. Time changes things. A lich, for all purposes, is still the person they were before transformation, only they're now a smelly undead immortal body. Just look to the Telvanni Mage Lord. A lot, if not all of them, are about as old or older than your typical lich, as they're still a bunch of wizards too preoccupied in research to look out of their own windows.

Your one of the pathetic Daemon servants of Tzeentch, an overly cryptic and useless fellow. Almost as bad as Slaanesh, the glorified hedonist.

Warhammer and Warhammer 40K, chaos gods. lots and lots and lots of lore. there are 4 chaos gods. Tzeench, Nurgle, Khorne and Slaanesh. Nurgle and Khorne are more popular and usually more powerful.

Well, on these forums, yeah. A few others I've been to have a large Slaanesh following. Haven't seen a large following of Tzeentch in one place, but they're everywhere...hiding...waiting...bunch of magic using cowards!

so I'm one of those cowards huh?

Yep. That's why people should learn how to use the force. We're so good, we can see the attacks your going to make before you make them, and use that info to cut off your arms or block.

Nurgle and Tzeentch hate each other (they're opposites). Khorne heavily distrusts mages and finds them highly cowardly, going so far as to kill (or worse) very powerful champions of his if they receive aid from sorcerers. Tzeentch encompasses magic, hope, change, revolution, and ambition (all to extremes). Nurgle is entropy, decay, despair, and disease (yet, his whole demonic and cultist army is very family-like and happy). Khorne is all about martial prowess, hate, rage, and war.

Tzeentch doesn't sound that bad...

I mean if I had to choose...

Maybe it'd be better left unsaid.

if you choose one chaos god then the other gods will probably not like you anymore. chaos armies usually stay away from each other until a champion wanders round and gathers everyone together to destroy the empire. I think it would be best if everyone followed Hashut... :whistling:

Back to the Liches discussion, make sure that the process grants the player the same abilities as normal liches

25% weakness to fire
100% resist frost (immune to frost)
100% resist poison (immune to poison)
50% resist shock
25% resist magic
25% spell absorption
permanent Water Walking ability
25% Reflect Spell ability
100% Resist common desease (in Oblivion just immunity to deseases.)

yah that's a good idea, the character should be more powerful, but he still shouldn't be the center of the world. He may only become stronger through practice and well other ways.
I don't want to make like the MOE mod that makes the player lich a powerhouse instantly.

I was thinking maybe those effects would appear gradually over the transformation, and when it was completed the effects would have the full effect.

Glad to see another player who feel the lichdom lore is lacking in the world of TES. Another key aspect besides the status upgrades you should keep in mind would be the appearance of the lich. Most if not all lich mods I have used including MOE have lich which are just basically skeletons in cloaks/hoods unlike the default ones we seen in the wild/cave/dungeons.

yah true, I don't like the skeleton look, I prefer the oblivion lich model, and if I can do this right, I will use that instead., I already have the seperate helm model.

Are you a modder too by any chance?

Might be possible to equip the Oblivion lich model as tail slot equipment, or you could find a skilled modder (alienslof, if you don't mind the clothing being revealing) to make you a custom version.

using just the lich model as equipment will cause some graphic bugs? I once did that with a skeleton and it cause some really weird stuff, then I realized it needed some editing.

and I don't get this part: "if you don't mind the clothing being revealing"

You've obviously never seen alienslof's work. Not kid-friendly stuff, to say the least.

Let's see, how Can I best explain this. Alienslof is one of the best makers of clothing in terms of the quality of her work. THe problem is, she does so enjoy making her work appeal to her erotic side.

I would send you a link to some of her alien artwork but it would seriously violate the forum's rules.
