Discussion on Lichdom

Post » Sat Dec 18, 2010 11:16 pm

yah true, I don't like the skeleton look, I prefer the oblivion lich model, and if I can do this right, I will use that instead., I already have the seperate helm model.

Are you a modder too by any chance?

Haha nah I'm just a lurker here

Been looking for a mod which offers the lich experience I have always wanted. I seen loads of vampire, werewolves and heck even devil-mode mods but none well established for a lich :(

Let's see, how Can I best explain this. Alienslof is one of the best makers of clothing in terms of the quality of her work. THe problem is, she does so enjoy making her work appeal to her erotic side.

so are you concerned about having an erotic lich (I don't see how that's possible) or she wouldn't help me in case I asked her for help?

Neither. Point is, slof likes to make things that show off the masculine physique, that's all. Also, her website is definitely NSFW, so make sure your not in a room with anyone else when checking out her work.

Namira does, and her worshipers.

I'd get into a discussion about an Eastern Philosophy about how "What is ugly is beautiful", but I can't remember the exact term.

I bet Namira is ugly too, and don't use her statue as an excuse =D
Daedra are deceiving

On Topic:
I was able to talk to AlienSlof, and she agreed to help me out with the lich body for the player.
Also it will feature wearable robe and helmet, so you can have the same corpse as oblivion liches, but still use other equipment.
I think it should work pretty cool

Reminds me of the Necromancy mod I made where you had a huge area to store all of your dead bodies in a cave located underneath the Waterfront district, a spell that lets you raise the undead (wonder if you could make it AoE so all of the dead bodies in an area raise up to attack! I'm gonna go check!), undead minions, and an evil lair.

Mwahahaha.

I think the Black Horse Courier guy was my first victim... I distinctly remember having Jair as well... hmm..

P.S. Getting your player character to revive is a *****.

that AoE raise dead already crossed my mind, and it will obviously be implemented.
I will implement several raise dead spells. One, for example, will give you the possibility to resurrect one corpse permanently, like a companion, but you will only be allowed to control one at a time. I might even add the possibility of the stronger you are the more you can control permanently, but you have to be really powerful.

Ok I guess it's time to discuss a little about my mod.
This mod started out to be just an overhaul of the magic system for oblivion, but as ideas started to come up, I realized that magic on its essense has both good and evil, and throughout history, we got to know individuals who, somehow, discover powers and special abilities. Well I got frustrated with the idea of after reaching the max prowess of my mage character, not being able to go any further. So if guys like mannimarco could get that powerful (but still killable) why can't I as well?
That's where necromancy and lichdom enters in the mod. These are alternative paths to a mage.
And well I have got to think about the good and holy paths as well, I don't want this to be just for evil players.
Besides this, all vanilla spells have been rebalanced, some more powerful with lower magicka costs. I will also rebalance soul gems, sigil stones, spell tomes and shivering isles spells.
Well there is more to it, but I won't copy and past, the various word docs I got with info.

There are several books about necromancy on oblivion, I will base my necromancy system on them, for instance, everytime you revive a corpse, it will get his stats decreased. You probably know the book I'm talking about, actually there are three volumes of that serie.

Also about that revive thing, yap it might be a pain, but I've heard the mod called Cobl or Common Oblivion possesses that feature, I'll look into it and see how it detects the player's near death and prevents it.

The good thing about this mod will be its modularity. I keep my balancing stuff within seperate esps, independent of the core esp.

Anyway, I will eventually need to get some help on this, I'm doing this on my free time and it might take a bit before released, and damn I want to play oblivion, but I won't until this is finished lol

Can't wait to see this. :)

Although... this could probably go under the "Oblivion Mods" category now, have you made a thread there?

nope not yet, I wanted to keep a bit of a surprise, which I failed here (hope not many people read my above post)
I will give the project more done stuff and progress and then I will make a WIP project on oblivion mods and receive feedback.

But thanks for showing interest, I'll be sure to work on this as much as possible. ;)

That's because I haven't completely wrecked your ideas yet, or told you about how Vivec is both a man and a women, kills things with a spear called Muata, which is a [censored], and bit off Molag Bal's manhood...Oops

Vivec is as close to a fusion of the archetypal Hero and God images as you can get. In other words, he is no weirder than Krishna or any other deity out there.

You fought Mannimarco's avatar, seeing that he's a god and all.

He can look like whatever he damn wants. :)

No, the KoW was severed from the GoW. Perhaps all that saved the GoW was the worship of the sload.

It was the intent of Mannimarco to rejoin the GoW and "fulfill" Arkay's Rites, by harnessing the Amulet.
