So I got Dishonored in lieu of the Steam Summer Sale, and like some other people my game crashes on launch, yet all my attempts at fixing the issue seems to be futile.
My drivers should all be updated seeing how I can run WoW and Titanfall with little to no issues, and given that Dishonored is close to three years old and not exactly groundbreaking from a technical point-of-view I fail to see why this game shouldn't work.
My current specs are:
GPU: Geforce GT 750M
CPU: Intel® Core i7-4700HQ CPU @ 2.40GHz
Memory: 8,00 GB RAM
Driver Version: 353.06
OS: Microsoft Windows 8
The error message I get is "Rendering Thread Exception: Fatal error! Adress = 0x0 (filename not found)" and I've tried just about every solution I've garnered from other threads which includes:
- Verifying Game Cache (multiple times)
- Setting launch options to -windowed
- Running as an admin/compatibility mode
- Downloading Nvidia drivers once more and rebooting my computer
Yet nothing is working. The only sketchy thing is found is that the "binaries" folder is labelled as "Win32" when my OS is Windows 8 64-bit, although I'm no computer whizz so I'm not sure if that's relevant.
I'd really like some help solving this problem as I have no intentions of flushing 3 euros down the toilet.
Thanks in advance.
