Dishonored 2 Details Revealed By Insider

Details about Arkane Studios' Dishonored 2, including its protagonist, setting and development, have been revealed to NowGamer.

Published on Jul 9, 2014

A number of details about Arkane Studio's in-development Dishonored 2 have been revealed to NowGamer by a source with knowledge regarding the game's development.

According to our source, Dishonored 2 is being developed at Arkane's Lyon studio, with Harvey Smith - co-creative director alongside Raphael Colontonio on the first Dishonored - heading the project.

Dishonored 2 could be set to star a new protagonist, with our source revealing that Arkane has had discussions about replacing Dishonored's main character, Corvo, with Emily Kaldwin.

Emily Kaldwin is a child in the first Dishonored, suggesting that Dishonored 2 will be set some time after the original.

So that’s one set of rumours examined. On to the next: today, we’ve had word via an anonymous email tipster that Dishonored 2: Darkness of Tyvia is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One, likely in November 2015.

The tipster said a reveal is expected at gamescom in August, and supplied the alleged PS4 pre-order boxart above.

I don't know about the first rumor, could be a genuine rumor about an early meeting, but if we had leaks that early in the development of the first game, we might have all been expecting a game about ninjas. So, while interesting, I'm not putting much stock in it either way. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to playing as Emily, but I was kind of hoping for a new time period and new characters, with the through-line being the Outsider and the world.

As for the second rumor, it's about as close to unquestionably fake as it gets. No chance of that being true at all.

I'd love to see a new Dishonored!

This game truly is awesome and I think it's the best spiritual successor to the original Deus Ex I've ever played.

That being said, I'd love to see some slightly larger levels.

I consider it a spiritual successor to Dark Messiah.

Dat fluid motions.

Dat tight controls.

Dat freedoms.

Dat melee.

Of course both were made by Arkane. I loved the multiplayer in Dark Messiah, it was a hop, skip and a jump away from e-sport worthy.
