Dismissed dogmeat and piper to sanctuary hills and they are not there or any of their locations they could be at. How can I find them?

I lost Nick Valentine! I think the glitch occurs when you Dismiss a companion to your current location

Yeah, I've lost dogmeat too. I dismissed him back to the red rocket quite a while ago, yet he still hasn't shown up. Maybe he didn't like the "walks" i was taking him on and decided to take himself on one far less stressful lol.

For piper check detectives office at diamond city, for the dog check the dog houses and for the rest check any place you see them quest related.

Dogmeat has a tendency to get stuck inside dog houses that are like the grinch's heart... two sizes two small. Anyway, he's barely visible in there, can't get out, and you have to work to be able to activate him.

The hardest part is, I had was almost there in scoring Piper... But now i will never know. I hope the devs fix this so I dont have to restart my game.

I had dismissed Dogmeat to Sanctuary and now can't find him. Problem is I can't search doghouses as I had already scrapped them. Now what?

You scrapped Dogmeat's house? No wonder he's missing. I can just see him headed down that long lonesome road with a little stick and his favorite bandanna holding all of his belongings...

In reality though, he is not likely tied to the dog house so much as to the spot where the dog house was. I think that's how the travel markers work anyway. Although some say that if you don't accompany him home to sanctuary he can be attacked en route and may never make it home.
