Dispose corpse

Post » Fri Feb 18, 2011 8:45 pm

I'd much rather be able to pick up and hide corpses, to avoid having somebody discover them and freak out. That'd be better than magically vanishing corpses or oblivious NPCs climbing into bed next to their murdered buddies.

It would be awsome if they would decay, and carion birds would circle them and then eat them. If they died indoors the rarts could eat them.

I didn't mean a grave suddenly appears, I meant that each town has a graveyard, and a few days after corpse decay occurs, a new grave appears in the graveyard for the NPC that perished. We could go pay our respects if one of our NPC companions perished.

Haha. This was done in the Shivering Isles with New Sheoth citizens. The epitaphs were hilarious. :D

Corpses disappear in Oblivion, it just takes a few days. I like the idea of disposing of corpses, but I always thought it was really odd in Morrowind when you just clicked a button and they disappeared. I had no idea what I had just done to dispose of it.

Um... In my 360 version of OB, the corpses stayed... and stayed... and stayed...

Mostly I'd like it back to save the annoyance of having to move piles of bodies around to get to whatever loot is on the bottom one.

What's memory? All I know is Skyrim better be 64-bit native, and have no RAM limit.

Dispose of corpse is really unrealistic, I want the corpses to slowly rot, until there's just a skeleton left. And then you should be able to pick up the skeleton, and throw the bones away.

This is a good idea--well at least the rotting away part--don't know if I'd be out picking up the bones of a decayed kill just to clean up the countryside though. Of course it would have to be an accelerated process to remove dead bodies quickly.

Personally I'd like to see groups of workers sweep through the cities once a week with a cart in tow and a bell in hand, shouting "BRING OUT YOUR DEAD! *ring ring* BRING OUT YOUR DEAD! *ring ring* BRING OUT YOUR DEAD! *ring ring*....

Then all the townsfolk who have been up to no good come out carrying corpses and stack them on the cart for quick removal and disposal. :lmao:

It would be fun to hide corpses in barrels or bushes, or even at night when no one is around throw a corpse out in the middle of the city, then the next morning everybody is freaking out

(not take ages to disapear)

Hmm...yea, that actually would be really cool. When I beat Oblivion, I was actually wondering whether I can pay my respect to Martin in a formal way, as oppose to just standing in front of the dragon statue.

My vote goes for the guy in the epic movie: Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

"Bring out your dead! CLANG CLANG Bring out your dead!!!"

A Meat Wagon rolls down the roads, collecting dead bodies of unknown, and they wither disappear from the game, or go to a mass grave, or just a pit with a lot of bodies, ha ha ha

EDIT: awww, someone beat me to it

I think it should be a game decision because otherwise you may forget to loot the body and it could be gone when you go back for it.

Maybe when you loot the button that says "Take All" would also have a little "fire" sign drawn on it. And once you loot everything, you use your torch to set fire to it automatically. Once you turn the corner (more than a few feet) from the burning body, it vanishes so that if you go back, there's nothing left.

it won't be nothing.

A double negative implying that it will be something.

They should disappear automatically after say 10 minutes or shorter and forget it. That option was kind of a weird translation of real world limitations into the game.

In conclusion, i'm not afraid of the memory corpses will take. it won't be nothing.

This is a problem, in large fights like battle for Bruma corpses goes away during the fight. Not so important but bad in some Fallout battles like mothership zeta’s hangar as you want to loot the enemies,
In cities remove them after a day then you are out of cell, in wilderness let them stay three days.

If you want to hide corpses you should have to physically dump them in water or bury them where they will eventually rot. Simply clicking a button to make them disappear breaks immersion.

IDK i don't think it really effected the Morrowind xbox-version, so i don't really care

Also i hope you have to hide dead bodies or else an enemy that see's that you killed their friend will get alerted. If you can just make the body disappear it'd sorta just make that too easy.

Good idea... But if we don't have any fire?

I voted "Yea" (Verily, verily, I say unto thee!), but not because of the memory issue. Like a lot of people, I don't like corpses hanging around in awkward places. I never stayed in the Anvil house because

Spoiler
I was always creeped out by the fact that there was a lich corpse chilling out in the basemant. Actually, I always wished I could fill that whole crypt space in and plaster it over.

I kind of liked the Anvil house, it just had too many... memories...

(Probably a completely unnecessary spoiler tag up there, but technically it is a spoiler, so...)

I voted yes because I am up for anything that will keep the game save file down. Granted I never really had many issues with Oblivion but Fallout 3 became unplayable for me once my save file reached 16MB. I am not sure about other systems but I can directly tie the size of my game save to the amount of crashes and other issues I have had in these games.

Please work on way to make the save files small.

Okay, here's my answer: Let's say that with the threat of war on the horizon, many mages (fearing the rise of dangerous plagues and diseases that break out from bodies lying around on the field) have come together to create a special ring that soldiers, adventurers, and anyone who would see war or battle must wear. They are required to burn all bodies left behind as a mandate, and if you perform your duty well, you are rewarded with a small stipend as a reward for keeping the Empire safe from the spread of disease. The ring itself monitors how many bodies you've burned to monitor how much of a reward you get, but it won't be much either way. If you don't burn any bodies with the ring, despite coming back rich from the "spoils of war" it may indicate you are not doing your part, and you may be fined instead.

Problem solved. And within the confines of the story arc, and the small amount of money helps offset the tedium of having to actually run over activate the ring to burn the bodies.

Just let me cast a fireball spell on it, and it will burn down until the charred remains are the only things left. (Disposing the corpse)

How about click on the "bury 'em" button five or six hours pass and afterward there's a lump in the ground, some dirt and no body. Or do I have to watch my character dig each and every shovelful every time after killing 300-500 bandits to be properly immersed? That's not immersion. That's tedium.

Yes, I do. I had no problem with disposing of corpses, just press the button, and poof...the corpse and whatever loot you didn't find worth saluaging went byebye.
Kept the cells clean, stopped ab-ending, and made for a neater, cleaner, world.
I also would like the option of having prekilled corpses with storage capablity. I dearly loved dressing poor Nads Tharen up,
