Dispose corpse

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 5:18 am

(Poll added)

In morrowind, we could dispose of corpses to keep the saved game file small...

In Fallout 3, corpses near cities would never disapear and in oblivion, it's the same thing... Since on ps3 save files become unstable when going over 10mb, I thought "if Skyrim gets the option to dispose corpses, the game could run better, and enable smaller saved files... By little, but it would make a difference", it would be great!

I agree. The other thing I'd like is graveyards that grow if people die. I want to go see Glarthir's grave.

Corpses disappear in Oblivion, it just takes a few days. I like the idea of disposing of corpses, but I always thought it was really odd in Morrowind when you just clicked a button and they disappeared. I had no idea what I had just done to dispose of it.

I would like the option to but I think it should take a bit of time to get rid of it and if you are in a dungion you can only get rid of it if enemies are not near.

That would be... well, quite strange. You kill a person and suddenly a grave appears from nowhere in the middle of the town.

I didn't mean a grave suddenly appears, I meant that each town has a graveyard, and a few days after corpse decay occurs, a new grave appears in the graveyard for the NPC that perished. We could go pay our respects if one of our NPC companions perished.

Oh, that would make more sense... I was thinking about some MMORPGs where it was as I said.

Yeah it could be like when you rest you see the little bars go for the amount of time you rested for. You could be caught in the act and have to kill another dude or quick run away.

I agree. An animation of some sort needs to be implemented to get rid of this problem.

Some corpses disappear in Oblivion, depending on where they are. Then there are 3 or 4 saves I've got where Lucien LaChance has been stinking up my house for more than an in-game year.

Helloooooo, Bethesda- I like it chilly, but my homes aren't kept cold enough to freeze and preserve lifeless flesh, fix for Skyrim please?

Dispose of corpse is really unrealistic, I want the corpses to slowly rot, until there's just a skeleton left. And then you should be able to pick up the skeleton, and throw the bones away.

No thanks, that's a tad too graphic for my tastes.

I don't mind options for other players, but it also doesn't add any realism if you have to leave a corpse for ages until it rots to bones which you can suddenly pick up to dispose of either.

I think there should be undertakers and funeral servicemen in major cities, so if you kill somebody, they will eventually find themselves there with their name on a Gravestone, sort of the monument to all of your sins.

Out of town, id say have them decay in a few days game time. In town, id say once you leave the town, or after the first night. Make the guards haul them away, or something. Because there is no way anyone would leave a dead body in the middle of town at any point in time.

They should disappear automatically after say 10 minutes or shorter and forget it. That option was kind of a weird translation of real world limitations into the game.

In conclusion, i'm not afraid of the memory corpses will take. it won't be nothing.

The only way that would be possible would be if the guards were not omniscient. That was my biggest complaint with Oblivion.

Having to kill every guard in the Imperial City because I got caught picking up a paint brush.

I would like to have this option, only implemented in a different way, in a great looking game like Skyrim it would feel odd to have this kind of feature, to just make corpses disappear, maybe if you were to incinerate them or something like that...
