Distant Lands and solstheim trees

Post » Sun Sep 12, 2010 11:03 am

Hi,
for whatever reason, Distant lands will not render trees on solstheim. It looks aweful to the point where I avoid even going to solstheim. All other trees in every other area work fine but i get nothing for solstheim. I have experimented with static sizes in distant land creation wizard but I have had no success. Is this a common problem? I am trying to use Vurts solstheim tree and brush replacer.

Thanks for any help!

Never seen that problem before.

Dumb question: do you have Bloodmoon.esm checked when you generate distant land?

I can tell you that they work for me.

I don`t use Vurt`s trees though. Perhaps try disabling them and then see how it works.

have you tried regenerating your distant land?

also, do you have the consistant fps thing ticked in mge? Try disabling that if you do...

do they appear when you get really close to them?

All trees appear within the normal draw distance. What I find really weird is that a few do appear in groups in distant lands. I wouldnt think it was a model or mesh issue because the same types of trees will then not show in distant lands everywhere else. There are just a few random groups that show. The effect makes it look like there are groups of trees with very large fields in between

Solstheim trees are very small and most of the fall below the default minimum object size, therefore few trees are actually visible in Distant Land. Try creating an exception list that enables the Solstheim tree meshes, or try lowering the minimum object size limit.

Here's what I use:
::Bloodmoon treesf\flora_tree_bm_01.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_02.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_03.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_04.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_05.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_06.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_07.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_snow_01.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_snow_02.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_snow_03.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_snow_04.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_snow_05.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_snow_06.nif=far reduction_100f\flora_tree_bm_snow_07.nif=far reduction_100
Copy and paste into a new text file and re-generate distant land. There's a step in there where you can browse to the new text file
