[WIP/REL] Diverse Ore Veins 1.0

What Diverse Ore Veins does:

This mod replaces the vanilla rock textures for the three ores in Morrowind: Diamonds, Ebony, and Glass, and creates renamed meshes (105 in total!) that use the 5 cave textures instead. In other words, instead of seeing the same rock texture for diamond, glass or ebony veins whether you're in a mold or lava cave, etc., there will now be separately textured veins for each.

The veins will now blend better into their surroundings, and will look like they might actually belong there! This might coincidentally make the veins harder to spot in some caves, which might not be a bad thing ;)

How many renamed meshes?

105! There are 7 vein meshes for each of the 3 ores, and there are 5 cave types in Morrowind. (7 x 3 x 5 = 105)

So for bone caves there are 7 diamond meshes, 7 ebony meshes, 7 glass meshes. Same for lava, mold, mud and py.

Is this a resource or a replacer?
Both, actually. It is NOT a texture replacer in the sense that it adds newly created textures. It simply changes the textures used for the meshes. Just want to make sure that's very clear!

There are two separate .esp's included with the download.
"CR Ore Replacer 1.0" will replace all standard ore rock meshes in game with the new ones.
"CR Ore Resource 1.0" adds all 105 meshes to the CS, but doesn't change anything in game.

Note: In the Replacer .esp, the container contents have not changed for the replacements. In the Resource .esp, the contents for each container have been left empty, so you may modify them as you wish.

Like the looks! >> They actually FIT their SURROUNDINGS now! OO'' since you also made them compatible with replacers.. yeah ^^ I don't see any criticism anyone could make because they do exactly what they're meant to ^^

awesome resource! makes the veins fit seamlessly! if you want to expand the resource, perhaps you can add ruby & emerald veins too? maybe even gold also?

Hmm... interesting suggestion. I might consider if for version 2.0 or something. For now I'm just reworking what already exists.

Well, what he did was to make the pieces of ore translucent. This would be nice for the glass and diamond ones. However, as intimated, I can see that this would be a major piece of work. Still, it'd be nice :)

By the way, I'm 100% done the diamond replacers and about 75% done the ebony, which just leaves glass after that. So, not too much longer now :)

I checked out the meshes by Blake, and while they do look good, I don't feel it's worth redoing everything just for the transparent ore :shrug:

Now that Earth Wyrm is doin some new meshes for the Ore retexture... I may have to make some other versions of this mod. For now I'll stick with the stock meshes... but perhaps I'll release version that give the option of using blake's (and possible Earth's) meshes as well.


I'm done all of the diamond and ebony replacements, so it's on to glass tonight when I get home from work. Release will probably be Sunday or Monday at this point.
