WARNING: Screenshots for Diverse Wisps and VASE share a single folder, so many of the creatures you see in this album are not available in Diverse Wisps.

In short: this mod adds 280+ new wisps to the game via the levelled lists: a 28,200% increase in wisp diversity, if you don't mind the stats abuse. The meshes and textures may be used or adapted for your own mod(s) as long as credit is given to me.
In long, err, the readme is appended.

1 - Installation 1)
+++++++++

i) Extract the archive to a spare folder and select the plugins you desire to use. The esm master and a single list plugin should then be copied into your game data folder along with the meshes and textures. Click "Yes to all" when prompted about overwriting. Better yet; make an omod of these files for easy and quick installation and uninstallation using OBMM. The esm master should be active, the esp plugins need not be active, but can be merged into your Bashed patch.

ii) If you install manually then you will have to choose a plugin to get the wisps into your game. At present there is a single plugin. Go figure. People using MMM should not use this plugin but should instead use the plugin created and released by Corepc (thankyou!).

iii) Use BOSS. No, really.
If you set load order manually then the esm can load anywhere after Oblivion.esm. I'd recommend loading it somewhere next to Mart's Monster Mod.esm for neatness sake.
The plugin for the vanilla game can also load pretty nearly anywhere, therefore it's best to load it fairly early and save confusion. I'd recommend sticking it with other mods that add regular items and creatures.

iv) Please practice safe-modding: use a Bashed Patch.

v) Wait in a safe place for three days. If you have a custom respawn time then wait however long you need to for your toenails to start ingrowing.

vi) If you wish to uninstall, remove the files you installed back in step i. Rebuild your Bashed Patch and wait for x number of days all over again or until you're bored.

+++++++++
2 - Support
+++++++++

i) Support is only available through the Bethesda Softworks boards at http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showforum=25 where the current thread for this mod should be located.

ii) If you believe you have found a bug please post in the official thread. Please provide the Formid(s)/EditorID(s)/filename(s) of the offending wisp(s), screenshots where appropriate, an option of marriage to your prettiest daughter and a thorough description of the problem. Failure to provide all of these will likely cause you to be ignored.

+++++++++
3 - Work completed
+++++++++

Currently there are:

72 custom creature textures (not all used)
6 custom ingredient textures

10 midi wisp skeletons
92 mini wisp skeletons
124 retextured regular wisp skeletons (not all used)
56 vari-coloured wisp skeletons
3 custom ingredient meshes

The esp contains spells appropriate for the new wisp types. Feel free to copy them for wisps you make using these resources.

+++++++++
4 - Description
+++++++++

i) There was only one will o'the wisp in vanilla Oblivion. Fail. No-one else made more. Double-fail. So I did. i is l1T3!!11!!oneoneone! (Or something along these lines)

ii) Future:
There are no specific plans for this mod to be developed further beyond any necessary fixes. If I get the urge to make more wisps at some point then expect an update. Otherwise, well, I think the best part of three hundred new wisps isn't too bad for a first attempt.

Under the licensing agreement of the CS this mod belongs to Bethesda softworks.
All meshes and textures are adapted from originals made by Bethesda softworks.
If I pass on responsibility for further development of these files to a 3rd-party then they will become responsible for further development.
If I have been absent from the development scene for longer than 181 days, have not responded to all reasonable attempts to contact me including, but not limited to: PMs, e-mail (as some users know my e-mail address) and at the last resort a general plea for contact then I acknowledge that I am not developing the mod further and these files can be developed further as the community on Bethesda's modding boards sees fit.

All files distributed with Diverse Will o'the wisps are to be treated as a Modders' resource and are essentially open for anyone to modify and distribute themselves with appropriate credit and blame given to me (Vacuity) for making the custom files as long as usage does not break the terms of the CS license agreement and Oblivion's license agreement.

MMM Diverse Wisp Addon 0.10

This add almost all new types of Diverse Willow Wisp to MMM game. The new willow wisp are all varied in types and spell effects. From mini ones to large colorful boss types has well.

This requires Diverse Wisp resources and Diverse Wisp Base.esm to be installed. Along with MMM 3.7b1 has well..

Also This require's wrye bash to use properly for the meantime. In order to work correctly with MMM/FCOM spawn rate reducers or increasers or for leveledlist changes each config does above.

This will work with a pure MMM setup without any spawn rate plugin loaded, and

but I still suggest that you use wrye bash so that the new wisp show up correctly. Just in case their is some conflict with some other mod that could modify the same leveledlist that are modified by this.

When I checked all MMM Config and FCOM plugins, I was always merging in any no xxx, or spawn rate plugins, etc along with MMM DW has well. In bashed patch..So make sure to do this has well..

Wrye Bash setup:

You do not need to tag MMMDW esp at all. You only need to make sure that checked off in merge patch section of bash patch. and once merged and patch is built, select it once more in bash so that the (check mark) turn into a (+).

and it will not be listed under leveledlist either. Since it adding new ones into existing leveledlist without relev, or delev those list.

Leveledlist changes that this adds to MMM..

Thanks Corepc!
The plugin for MMM compatibility is available at the Nexus download site under Optional files and contains Corepc's readme. Please use it instead of the "Diverse Wisps - for Vanilla.esp" that comes in the main download. This should be obvious, right? :shakehead:

Updated the first post with pictures (which I somehow forgot when I made the initial post). I'll get an entry on TES sometime soon so there will be an alternate download location available.

Yes, there's enough variety in here to keep a toddler on a double espresso entranced.

Ooh, this one got buddahed too. You know you never "did" Item Interchange?

May the Lord Elvis bless everyone! We got Wisps!

I'll confess I'm not too bothered about Elvis, but I care about wisps!

Doh! How did I miss this?

Well, it's only been out for a few hours, that's forgiveable. :)

Yeah, I got caught up working on making the particle systems do what I wanted, and then had to remake hundreds of skeletons everytime I worked out how to make the particle system work better. Learning experience: yes! Efficient: no!

Thanks for the kind comments guys!

You're welcome! When you finish the mod, point me to it: I'd be very happy to see how they get used. :)

I am proud to announce that Diverse Will o'the Wisps is now available at http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=OblivionMods.Detail&id=5625. Have fun!

I notice that the Diverse Wisps - Base.esm is different between the Base archive and the MMM - Diverse Wisps archive. The MMM one is a couple hundred bytes smaller and dated a week older.

Which one should I use if I intend to use the MMM plugin?

B*gger, I forgot to strip out the esm in Corepc's archive before I uploaded it. Use the one in my release. I'll get that fixed immediately. Thanks for informing me!

Vac

Edit: Fixed, the main difference between the two esms is that the one in the main download uses the retextured ingredient models, and the one in the MMM archive didn't use them. No other differences, so it's not going to break anyone's game if they are using the wrong esm.

Perhaps you should just remove the esm from MMM download. this way in case some user's think they have to replace their esm with one that comes in MMM version.

In this case "Fixed" means I already did that. :)

Yes, lots of colour with this one!

:lol: Have to change that keyboard ...

I expected that too, but actually, none of the file sizes are that big and it seems that the mesh files are very compressible (I guess because it's mostly xml), so the end result is a very small archive. If only everything compressed that well.

These are so pretty, I might actually stop grinding my teeth at the thought of them now. :D

Yes, you'll be too busy thinking "It's so pretty!" as you get killed.
