Orcs are elves too. Wouldn't that mean they have longer life spans too?

But Divaith Fyr is Dunmer. Altmer live longer in general than Dunmer, I believe. (And yeah, my first idea is probably more fun )

Doesn't matter that he was a Dunmer. Add 3000 or 3500 years, what's the difference, it's extreme for any race. The point was that nobody lives that long without magic.

I really liked the variety of racial lifespans, but http://elderscrollsonline.com/en-uk/news/post/2013/05/06/ask-us-anything-variety-pack-4 is our most current official information about them and while I can't bring myself to take it at face value, I really don't see how it can be stretched as far up as to 1000. Our source for that thousand year elven lifespan was a human in Real Barenziah and it wasn't exactly a scholarly paper, so... I think I'll just settle for believing that magic is so common among Altmer that they appear to naturally live longer.

Look man, Skyrim's a rough place, living there could put anyone on edge. Thalmor Hit squads, Bandits, Dragons, Werewolves, Vampires, Dawnguard/Vigil trying to off you if you're supernatural.
