Sorry everyone, I know there quite a few of DLC idea threads thrown around but was hoping you could all cope with just one more
I've been playing FO4 and NV simultaneously and one thing that caught my attention was some of the cool looking collectibles in NV, namely the Snowglobes. Now I see why they have been removed from FO4 but I was thinking maybe Bethesda could reintroduce them as a series of Collectible Cheats, and possibly also have them in as an alternative to Wild Wasteland as the cheats will cause wacky occurances throughout the wastes...
So the idea:
Various Snowglobes will be littered around the wastes, whenever you collect a Snowglobe you can go into a 'Stats' tab and shake the Globe. Your character will perform an animation where he/she will shake it and it will cause an animation within the globe to take place, this acts as an activation of the cheat. You can go back into your Stats tabs and switch them off any time if it starts getting a little out of hand for you. The Globes will each cause a 'cheat' like effect more similair to the old days of Big Heads in Goldeneye, and not cheats that will cause you to become OP. Ideally the variety of Globes will include some that are references to past Fallout games, and ideally each 'cheat' will be max-wacky.
Some examples of Globes and their cheats:
-Garry's Treasured Globe: A globe featuring many 'Garry's' with their heads tilted either left or right, and one giant garry in the center. Activating the globe will cause all the Garrys heads to return upright while the giant Garry will put on a cynical smile. When unactivating the Garries will let out a sighful 'Garry...' as the snow covers them, quickly melting and reverting them back to their old position. Cheat: A number of Garry's will appear in the distance murdering one another. If you get close enough they will stop and tilt their heads left or right, and then proclaim 'GARRY!'. Occasionally a Garry will appear and murder anyone you are in combat with.
-The Oasis: A globe with an oasis surrounded by lush foilage with a weird looking tree in the middle (Harold and Bob). On activating the globe will set Harold and Bob on fire, and they will be heard screaming in agony. When unactivating the snow will remove the fire, and Harold will comment on the relief of no longer being on fire. Cheat: Causes the world to rain and sudden large venous fly traps will grow out the ground. The fly traps will sing songs from Little Shop of Horrors, and mock you. Occasionally a plant may snap unsuspecting enemies out of nowhere and drag them into the earth.
-The Journey of the Damned: A globe with a crashed rocket surrounded by the carcasses of Ghouls. On activating the globe the rocket will reactivate and launch itself into the glass and get crushed like a tincan. On de-activating the carcasses will get up and pull the rocket back to its original place while preaching comments about the Great Journey. Cheat: Every non-ghoul will become a ghoul and scream in terror 'What have I become!' Ghouls will start laughing at everyone as they will revert to smoothskins (companions will also act). The terror brought on by their change will be so severe that most human enemies will just ignore you and cry.
-Arrows and Knees: A giant statue of a knee with an arrow in it stands in the middle of a number of worshippers wearing pre-historic outfits. On activating the globe will start to snow knees and arrows. On deactivating all the arrows will home into a knee and knock them out of existance. Cheat: Random NPCs crying in agony with arrows stuck in their knees and shouting 'Who the [censored] still uses bows and arrows!' will appear. Occasionally an arrow might hit an enemy NPC in the knee and cripple the legs.
If you have any alternative wacky ideas, or criticisms as to why this idea svcks, post em up! Would be nice to hear peoples thoughts.
