DLC Discussion

I'd like to make a few points about future DLC's that everyone should read and think about. All are content that should be considered for any upcoming DLC, but how they deal it makes an awful difference to the evenness the game gives.

Free DLC

If you look under the DLC Section on the main screen of the game, it takes you to a list of fourteen DLC options to choose. They are free, which opens the option that some future DLC may be free, too. Here are some that must be free.

1. Lobby - the game currently has no pre game lobbies and is almost first-come-first-serve status. This is a must have for downloadable content.

2. Appearence - outfits and archetypes can be feautured in both free and paid-DLC. They are also very important content.

3. Patches - definitely a must have for all DLC. Patches aren't technically DLC, but are still required to be downloaded in updates.

4. Weapons - weapons are some of the most important feautres to DLC, but to have it only available for those who pay for DLC, gives some the upper hand and those who cannot afford the download the bottom.

5. Abilities - like weapons, Abilities are a very improtant obstacle to overcome in a game, requiring skill. To have these only available in a paid-DLC would also leave very many inferior.

Paid DLC

1. Maps - very important to a game, something we are anticipating, although it could be a Free DLC, it makes sense for them to require money for maps.

2. Weapons - weapons required to be paid for would kill how the game works; to restrict certain players from aquirin these would destroy much of the gameplay.

3. Abilities - like I said once, abilities are something a player needs in Brink to survive, and restricting certain people from this is unnecessary
.

These are all things we want to see in future DLC's, but as you can see, where they draw the line between free and paid-only makes every difference. What do you say?
