DLC "Exclusive"?

I would not bother by the fact which DLC and for what platform will be released first if you have not even played the game yet.

Will I be disappointed if it turns out that the Xbox 360 version gets a DLC that the PC (my preferred version) doesn't? Yes. Am I going to get angry and whine and cry about it? No. I think a lot of people need to cool down and get their minds out of the "I'm entitled, and it's not fair!" perspective.

Be patient. We'll probably all have access to the same DLC's eventually. If not, then is anybody's life really going to be incomplete by missing out on something that minor?

To me it's not that big a deal. If I like the game I like and as long as one of the devs doesn't yell I hate black people I'm cool. Even then I'd probably still get it because I'm not going to punish myself for their mistake.

Well, to be more precise. Obsidian (The developers) have no say in who or what gets use of the DLC, this is all on Bethesdas desk. Who to alot of people posting atm, seems like Vault Tec unmasked to them XDD

Ok folks, if you want this thread to rant in, keep civil. Xbox users stop acting like you got a special party favor. PS3 players stop acting like you aren't getting a party favor at all since you are getting the game if you want it and you get to attend the party. Stop calling one another names and accusing other members of being patronizing.

Calm down.
And stop it with the "xbox has memory leaks" or "ps3 is a better system" and all that crap just to rile one another up. Otherwise this thread will be locked and there will be no place on this forum to complain/discuss it at all. Because if we close this thread, there won't be another like it for a long while.

May not be a bad thing XBOX is getting the first DLC. After all the first DLC released for FO3 was a softball tailored to make the general game much easier. Out of the five DLCs there was only one that wasn't riddled with glitches, and/or didn't break the game.

Odd that even after the devs ditched GFWL (for it's direct competitor) Microsoft is still willing to pay-up for first helpings of the DLCs. Long as Steam get the same content abit later I won't care.

Well us PC and PS3 users, looks like we've been sold down the river, there's an old saying "money does talk"

And look the PC users are rescued half way down the river because they have MODS.

Agree, and it doesn't make sense to me that Bethesda would release a Full DLC of game-content, quests, etc for only the 360/PC. They have not done this before with Fallout3 and with GWFL gone (and thus less control by Microsoft, not more), I really do GECKulate that this is a combination pre-order pack - and nothing more significant than that.

I very highly doubt that. Whatever the DLC will be, the way GStaff's post is written, it will be only for XBox, forever. And I highly doubt that a combined DLC of the pre-order fluff would be it.

Not for PC, or PS3, ever. Not very cool, this trend has been showing up a lot lately, and I think it's pretty chintzy. As a player, regardless of my platform of choice (PC for me), I want the opportunity to experience all of the official content.

Exclusivity release deals to fuel console-war sales is just a huge noxious pile of crap that keeps wafting up in my face.

So, the second DLC will be exclusive to the PC and 3rd to the PS3.. Nah, I don't see that at all. It's all exclusive to the 360. PC will get it March 2011, PS3 will have to wait for the GOTY since putting DLC on PSN isn't technically possible.

what do mean its not possible? all the fallout 3 dlc is on psn.

That is odd ~unless the deal was for both from the beginning? (FO3 and whatever else they made 2nd... Longshot I know.)

Don't buy the game because you don't get the First Bonus content? I'm still missing something. How about they just Never release DLC so they don't piss anyone off? Or would you still complain because theres no Bonus content?

Yeah I would be happier if there was no extra content (its not bonus content if your paying for it). I am not mad because I am not getting the extra content. I am mad because if I buy the game I am supporting them as developers, and then my reward for supporting them is they leave me out in the cold while they cater to only people who bought the game on the 360.

I would much rather support a developer then who will thank me for supporting there game.

The problem with making it a timed exclusive is when the DLC is released for the PS3, people will not buy as much of it because the game will be older to them and they have moved on to something else. Also before they can download and pass the DLC, there may be even a new Fallout game available and they would just want to skip the DLC and go to that one. That is what happened to me with Fallout 3 since I own a PS3. In the Fallout games, I enjoy trying to do everything possible in the games to get the most out of the story. This is why it took me so long to get to the DLC.

I love my PS3, but I can't really blame a company for listening to the money. They've got to have something to help fund future projects, and having Microsoft as a benefactor doesn't hurt.

That said, I'm probably going to wait for the (likely) GOTY Edition to purchase any NV DLC, since I will be able to get it all at once at that point. I just hope the DLC is as good as it was with FO3.

I'm gonna laugh so hard when the DLC turns out to be a Dinky The Dinosaur XBL theme. Guys, I think we should all relax until we have more information. The wild speculation doesn't help anyone. We don't know what the DLC is or why it's exclusive to XBL. For all we know Microsoft might have paid to have the DLC developed in the first place, in which case why shouldn't they get exclusivity rights to it?

My question is: why did Bethesda even release any DLC info without telling the whole story? Didn't they know this was going to happen? Do they think the controversy is good press or something?

Anyway, if you're that upset about it then vote with your wallet and don't buy the game until the DLC is released for your platform. What better incentive could they possibly have to get it released sooner?

Yeah. That would probably be a good indication of just how much Bethesda cares.

Or a good indication of how much information the legal department is allowing to go out. Who knows at this point? Maybe not even the details are completely set in stone yet for the dlc beyond the first one.

YEAH, what she said!

But seriously, can we all just agree to have fun with the vanilla game and when DLC gets here we can discuss it then?

I don't think you have anything to worry about then. :) Knowing Obsidian and Bethesda as little/well as I do, I have never seen prejudice of any form coming out of the shops. Quite the contrary, both companies employ all flavors of human and abuse their employees equally during crunch times.

This game is simply too-cool not to play, and I still believe that this "Exclusive deal" is all about getting the pre-order packs into wider circulation, and Nothing about cutting PS3 players off at the knees. Somehow it just doesn't track that they would do this. My vote is in for pre-order combined bonus packs, and aside from that, its 12 hours and 20 minutes till Vegas Time - DLCs are for a much later time.

Mods are user made content, if you don't like the fact that you can't use them, take it up with Microsoft and Sony.

DLC is Official Content, made by the game creators.

Saying exclusion is justified because of the flexibility of the PC edition is just asinine.

Hmm sarcasm doesn't translate well in this digital age.. guess you don't remember when the DLC was announced for 'Fallout 3' back in the day - well, that was one of the reasons Bethesda gave for the DLC not appearing on the PS3 at the time (that it wasn't technically possible on PSN - even though 'Shivering Isles' for Oblivion was available on PSN).

I thought it was like THQ and Dawn of War II. GFWL is still a part of the product, but Steam is handling the meaty stuff.
