I want everyone to be clear on two things from the release that went out.

1) All we announced is that the first DLC will be exclusive to Xbox LIVE. It'll be available this holiday season through Xbox LIVE.
2) More details about plans for additional content will be released in the coming weeks.

Beyond that, I don't have any information to share. Again, we'll share more info in the coming weeks.

Ouch. Yeah, that sounds like the first DLC will be XBox only, permanently. I hate when games do that crap.

Welcome to the real world. I know a lot of you don't understand how corporations and businesses work, but this is about money. Bethesda is a subsidiary of a larger corporation, which means there are shareholders to answer to. And they do run anolyses to determine if the money they will get from Microsoft will be more than the loss of sales to PS3 and/or PC users. They wouldn't do it if they didn't think it was worth more money in the end. In fact, if they decided to decline the money, they could open themselves up to a lawsuit from shareholders.

So, let's not argue about "who killed who" and enjoy the game that comes out tomorrow!

Content being bought by the highest bidder and thus being denied to the players on different platforms is the issue. Microsoft is attempting to draw people in as they know that the 360 is in serious trouble right now. I only hope the Kinect fails as severely as it deserves to.

So it's about principle? Everyone being a proud consumerpatriot? :P

Pffft, I'd understand if the issue at hand was about an expansion (something of substance)... But an early DLC? I just can't get a grasp of it.

The way I see it, let the 360ers have their "timed exclusive" (if it really is timed) and test it out and review it - helps the rest of us choose whether it is worth anything. I'd say this is actually a good thing, no buying a pig in a bag.

I am truly confused. Why does a [censored] DLC (a little thing that likely isn't worth a damn) cause such a ruckus? It's not like the core game is incomplete without it or anything.

Could someone explain?

I completely agree. Moreover, I won't get the DLC = (potential) money saved. And if it gets released for the PS3 a year later, I'll already have reviews and know what they are like, and thus decide. Because in Fallout 3 I had the GOTY so I had all, but I only found Point Lookout worth the (extremely expensive) purchase. Oh, yeah, the level cap increase of Broken Steel was nice as well, but not a big deal.

Seriously, guys, this is not like if you bought FIFA and got the game without the football, and you had to buy it in a separate DLC. You'll still have a complete-looking game, and you'll be asked to pay +50€ if you want 5 addons that will add more hours to the game. And it's not like the main game will last only 10 hours...

And as you say, there are other games to be played. I'm looking forward to Gran Turismo 5, so New Vegas will go to the shelf when the King of Racing comes out... :D

It really annoys me when developers play favorites just because of a system you own. As a fan, I dont want to be locked out of the whole experience because of my choice of console :/

Now that hurts. I am simply saying that Bethesda's games are worth multiple time the value for which they are purchased. How many other games last hundreds of hours for $60 or less? Extremely few. Is it so wrong for me to say that Bethesda deserves our support for the amazing games and quality they deliver to us?

How about you make your own thread to do that, instead of flame-baiting in a thread concerning dlc for the ps3? You know, cause that will like earn a warning and posting ability suspension.

I think most of us are aware of this, but you can't deny that a Exclusive DLC was announced for a console you didn't own would leave you sorely disappointed.

I absolutely agree that Beth (and Obsidian btw) deserve our support and I am more than willing to pay for any quality DLC that is made available for my PC version of the game. :hubbahubba:

The question is why should I be told I have to wait an (as yet undetermined) amount of extra time to do so? Is my PC version money not worth as much to them as your 360 version money? That's obviously rhetorical, as the answer is clearly yes in this case, still doesn't make me feel any better about it.

I don't get mad, I get even.

If Bethesda doesn't care about me (a PS3 user), then I don't care about them. No longer will a talk up and hype Bethesda releases to my friends, family and the internet communities I frequent. No longer will I pre-order any Bethesda titles, much less the Collector's Editions. No longer will I buy any Bethesda published title new. Games that I had fully intended to buy brand new like RAGE and Brink, will now be bought used a week or two after release and then returned to Gamestop afterward so that others might enjoy them without giving a single red cent to Bethesda.

I've already canceled my pre-order and am content to wait a handful of days to buy a used copy which I plan to further circulate once I'm done with it in a few weeks. I've already advised everyone from my girlfriend, to my second cousin, to my online buddies to do the same.

If you must play NV on release, then rent it for a few days and keep your save game until you grab a used copy.

I just love that they are giving something special to a systems whos gamers have been playing the game for a week due to illegal piracy, these are people who wont even legitly purchase the game and yet they get something extra. Good Job. :swear:

Yeah exactly, there is ZERO reason to be upset IMHO - we do not have enough information to know anything.

Funny thing to me is that this "Exclusive DLC" may be nothing more than the pre-order packs for those that missed it, available to 360/PC users! Thats IT! It's not like anyone will miss any of the games, not like PS/3 users will miss-out on Real DLC content.

But heck I can't even say that because I don't know, its just speculation and not even worth of GECKulation.

Vegas is upon us, and its time to think about that.

You're right. I would be disappointed too. And I guess a forum is about the only place to express that. I do wonder about the timing of the announcement. Shouldn't they have waited until after the game came out? I would have.

looks like ill be renting new Vegas for ps3 then, ill just wait for the GOTY version.

People are getting this worked up over this little bit of news? A few hours ago everyone was perfectly happy about NV releasing tomorrow/friday.

It's not like it's breaking the core game. We 360 owners won't be getting it until Christmas anyway. Relax.

I dont understand why 360 users are posting their glee, at this point it's pretty much flame baiting by saying 'Yay I have a 360'

@Indulge- While this is true, Bethesda has the choice not to take their offer, granted it is a hole in the pocket, I would care more for customer satisfaction than 'lets turn a profit'

I can, I think. Think of it like this: You walk into a bar for a meal and a beer, and you find yourself a nice table near the window. You order your meal and drink and it arrives in good time, just when you're about to tuck in the owner of the bar appears and says, "Everybody sitting at these tables over here..." (gesturing away from yours) "... now have an extended menu of fantastic food and drinks." As he's saying it you see a variety of foodstuffs and beverages that you would love to have, but you can't, because you're sitting at the wrong table. <_<

lol Heh ha. For my part. I haven't even played FO:NV yet! I dunno if I'll like it! Even if I do, I fully intend to spend copious quantities of time kicking the ever living poo poo out of it, and squeezing every last drop of playability it might have before I even consider purchasing any DLC. Even if they released a DLC the day after release, I wouldn't purchase it for a good while.

Have you played Fallout 3? The Fallout 3 DLC are like mini expansions, not something like the horse armour DLC for Oblivion, which really is a little thing. So they do add quite a few hours of gameplay. I agree that people are overreacting though.

I have. And what I can remember, they were all felt rushed and somehow incomplete.

I still think, even if the issue now was about a DLC the size of PL, that it isn't worth crying about.
