DLC: Horse Armor+

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 4:16 pm

For those that don't want to read This Voting System is based on DLC that's mainly for Mountable Horses with Combat, the Horses armor part was the Joke.

We may not get mountable horses, however we've seen horses in the trailer so...

The question is would you purchase DLC that was Horse Armor+?
You ask what is the +?
The + Would be the addition mount feature that are combat ready.

I'm asking this because the devs might not have the time to completely finish off mounts, it just might be to much. So would it be worthwild for you to purchase a combat ready mounts?
I don't just mean Oblivion horses, I mean something more along the lines of RD:R or AC:B (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWXekpev02Q) or (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YM7y8ETITyI)

Todd mentioned that they should bring back Horse Armor DLC as a joke, and this would definitely be great as a joke, but also a much more useful one.

I want DLC dragon armor, even if we can't mount them. They may rip me to shreds, but they'd look cool doing it

I'm getting this out right off the top. I hate DLC. I never buy it and never will.

Now then, it's a decent idea as long as it is implemented correctly. I've never played a game with mounted combat (mount and blade being the first I think of) so I can't say whether I like it or not.

$5 for DLC is a little pricey isn't it? The original oblivion DLC's were pretty small compared to the fallout ones. This doesn't add any new lands so I would hope it would be less than $5. Maybe beth will be nice and INCLUDE IN THE GAME.

I think it's more about time and deadline rather than just being nice or not... I'm sure bethesda would love to add in everything that everyone loves, because they love it too. The only problem with that is.. We wouldn't get this game untill 2050 and I'm just happy that we get to play this game before the end of the world in 2012 ;)

Jk about the end of the world... or am i? Nobody knows! I heard the Myans worshipped Sheogorath

Would I pay money for horse armor with mount combat? NO! It's either free, already in game, or no buy. Also, mares are female horses. Why the sixism against stallions?

Also, [censored] dragon mounts!

Considering the game will most likely offer the same tools in the past, DLC is not worth paying for unless it comes in full expansion form. If I want armor on my horse I'll do it myself.

horse armour DLC?
this must be a sick joke right ? :)
Imho horse armour dlc was one of the biggest fails (of small fails beth has had)?
did they charge any money for it?

I def. wouldn't buy horse armour, that seems funny :)

Yes I would buy it. Why? Because I like to have the complete set of DLC good or bad. Don't have to use it if I don't want to. And who knows, maybe Bethesda lernt a thing or two.

I voted No, I don't think it will be good DLC. I voted 100 Million Dollars. Why? Because there was no other option. I would say $2 max if it was Oblvion style horse armour. Anything more than
that, I would not buy no matter how much I want the complete set of DLC. I voted everything but giants. I dont know what Snu Snu is, and I hit Deer by acident. All the others would be nice
to ride since I never seen it before, and who doesn't love Thundercats HHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO.

I fail to see why discussing horse DLC is relevant to the fact that we don't even know what skyrim offers yet.

I beleive it's relevant.

In the newest trailer we see a horse, yet no mounted horses. I think theres a chance we might not see mounts in Skyrim, however a lot of us do really like mounts so we would definitely purchase them in the future if it's not in at final release and this thread might show how important it is to people.

Then the thread should say "Do you want mounts in skyrim"

Either way assuming we'll get modding tools, know for sure we'll get horses one way or the other.

I was always against the general DLC we've been seeing almost all the time, not just from Bethesda but from all the games,i mean pay extra for a extra weapon, character costume, horse armors, even some that would just unlock content already in the game after release,to me thats simple exploring of the fans, milking us for everything they can.
I still remember in Morrowind days (this isn't saying anything about Morrowind>everything else, just stating how the feeling was back then) we got loads of official FREE plugins,Adamantium Armor,Area Effect Arrows,Master Index and Siege at Firemoth, just to name the ones i recall, why cant it be like this now?

I feel you. I heard will be getting some FONV DLC soon and its about some major characters in the courier's past. It sounds like it should have been in the core game. Like a major side quest or something. I feel like I'm getting ripped off more and more with this DLC crap.

Don't even get started on COD. :bleh:

If there are horses in the game, I'm sure horse armor will be in the game as well. Instead of it being DLC like Oblivion.

If there's going to be armor for mounts, then it should come built into the game upon launch. $5 for the horse armor in OB was hilarious. And I still enjoy the good jokes that come from that. :P

Anyway, since it appears horses are in, due to the trailer yesterday, I vote for those and sabertooth mounts. But I'd stick with horses since they're more conventional. I hope saddlebags make their way in too (one of my favorite mods for OB actually, as far as cosmetics go). I'd rather have that than armor since I play Ranger-type stealth characters, so bringing my mounts into battle doesn't really happen.

If I were to ride a sabertooth, I'd name it Santa and give it a red hat... or if it was a sabertooth tiger, I'd name it Hobbes. and give it a red hat. I just like red hats.

I like horses, that's why I never use them ( got the free one from the priory, wolves killed it, sad faced bunny ) but understand everyone else wanting them.
Todd said they didn't feel right, I'm thinking making them work with the mountainous terrain means you are better off without them, and Beth are damned if you do, damned if you don't : "OMG no horses!" " Why are there horses, they look like they are on a ski lift!".
As to the infamous dlc, IF it had been horse armour, a few new clothes, and saddlebags, then I would have bought it.

I'd love to see a variety of mounts with full mounted combat and armor. Even if it is just horses, that'd be great. Although I wouldn't mind having a mammoth or giant cat as a mount.

But if we ever see armor, please include more than just steel and elven; I want the whole range from Fur to Daedric (with varying prices in gold). :P

nothing against horses, i would just rather have another mountable creature instead. horses are everywhere, even in real life. i would much rather ride a guar or Kagouti or Nix-Hound or bull netch or alit. I don't understand why horses are necessary for mounts.

seeing horses in the trailer, although the rest of the trailer was amazing, was slightly disappointing, but only in that we can't ride a TES-only creature.

i won't buy horses or horse armor as DLC

no...i didn't mind the added houses, or guild. But instead of dlc, they should put in expansions or missions.

Nope, I wouldn't buy it. If I shell out $60 for a game, that's good enough for me. Never have bought DLC. Now if they really start cutting back on what they put out in the base game, or start making DLC more...manditory...I wouldn't even buy the game. In fact, that's why I left AD&D so many years ago when the "class books" came out. Just saw it as a way to bilk more money from the player

Maybe it's a good idea, but it's not for me. Like opera :mohawk:

$1 million as my null vote since there wasn't one.

And other for mounts...none of those came to mind when I read the question :whistling:
