DLC - Installed, impact and timing

Post » Wed Apr 17, 2013 7:34 am

I have been playing base Skyrim for awhille and am level 43. I still have quite a few quests in my journal as I have been walking around somewhat systematically place to place and not just fast traveling to knock out quests in order.

I just bought both the Dawnguard and Dragonborn DLC packs for the PC from the Gamestop online sale and when I added the keys to steam they downloaded and installed right away.

Here are my questions seeking your experiences with the game and the DLC:

- Should I (assuming it is possible to) wait and not start on the DLC story lines and new locations until I knock out most of the base quests?
- Does the order the DLC is played in matter any?
- If I wait to do the DLC story lines and locations until later, what impact such as new additions will I see in the game? For example, will I see the cross bows from Dawnguard in the base Skyrim lands, etc.?

Thanks!

You can play them in order in which you see fit, trust me, I've been doing all of them in mixed orders, and story doesn't really have an impact.

And congratulations by the way, good purchase, you'll love them.

Pretty much.

Not sure about the crossbows. Nevermind only when you join either side of the Dawnguard DLC.
