DLC issue, I am very upset with Bethesda

Post » Thu Sep 12, 2013 8:04 am

A long time ago i bought Oblivion, GOTY Edition, and i then paid individually for most of the other DLC plugins(Mehrune's Razor, Fighter's Stronghold, etc.). I was told at the time i paid for and downloaded the plugins that they would always be available for download from the Bethesda site. so i recently went to download them again, only to discover that they are no longer available to download.

I went down to Gamestop, the closest gaming store, to see if they had or could order a disk with the desired DLC, which they didn't and couldn't. So instead I pre-ordered The Elder Scrolls Anthology, which they assured me would contain ALL content for ALL Elder Scrolls games, including the desired DLC.

So I picked it up yesterday and opened it only to discover that the Anthology did not, in fact, contain ALL content for ALL Elder Scrolls games, including the desired DLC.

I took it back to Gamestop today, but they of course said they couldn't do anything about it and to take it up with Bethesda.

Now here I am, having spent well over a hundred dollars on something that at most should have cost no more than $30, and I am getting pretty frustrated.

Bethesda is a well known name, and I sincerely hope that you will take the measures necessary to keep a loyal customer happy.

I love Bethesda, but I also agree that I wish they would keep the Oblivion DLCs for download, even if not for free (I wish). I'd be willing to pay the $16 that they were charging on the site back when it was open.

Just an FYI though, if you can find a new copy of the Knights of the Nine CD online, it has all of the DLCs, excluding Fighter's Stronghold (which is one of the best, I've heard).

With the new Anthology, you can get the DLCs for Oblivion for free:

All you need to do is create a Steam account.

As far as I know, the only way to get all of the DLC for Oblivion in one package is to purchase the GOTY Edition Deluxe from Steam ($24.99).

NVM - the Anthology includes the Steam key you need.

Looks like in order toget the other DLCs you need to register the game with STEAM and then Steam will download the DLCs - the box should include a key for registering with STEAM and the key is for the GOTY deluxe edition so will include the minor DLCs (not sure why they didn't include them in hard copy form but they are only about 100MB in total to download (Assuming you can get Steam to not download the entire GOTY content rather than using the Disk install !!)
