DLC joke BETHESDA ?!

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 10:06 am

I am a big fan of FALLOUT but the DLC is a joke !!!

Not even 2 hours game time and the story is totally bad.

I remember the Fallout 3 DLC`s and the Fallout New Vegas DLC`s, were all their money value. The NV DLC / Old World Blues was great..and all other of F3 and NV, but THIS, sorry, for me is not Fallout!

I am very disappointed!

There MODS / Quest of modders are free and far better than what you have done to you with the first DLC/F4.

Take the RIGHT Fallout feeling back bethesda!

Take off nostalgia glasses and calm down, man :)

Operation Achronage was meh and it was also short, same for Mothership Zeta. Brotherhood of Steel DLC was considered damage control.

Also, Far Harbor sets up to be huge and more than 3 DLCs, so I don't see anything wrong. Nobody forces you to buy it - why would you even buy DLC when there are free and better mods, anyway?

Automatron was never meant to be a story-based DLC. In fact, quite a few of us were surprised there was a story at all. It's a DLC based around building and customising robots ... which you can do with or without following the story through. It's also getting a lot of really positive reviews, so...

Yeah. Stop crying. Your tears are delicious, though.

I love it, cheap as chips so I don't know what you were expecting.

So far, best companion, best weapons, great tinkering with robots, new heavier armour, good variety of new enemies AND......

.... AT LAST after running Sanctuary with defences below resources for weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeks sweating on an attack so I can see how we go - we're getting attacked!

I like it. I expected to be about building robots not a story base dlc. I have to admit I wanted the Mechanist as a companion after the dlc. Oh and it was never hype as old world blues 2.0

Yeah, the main questline is pretty much on par with Operation Anchorage or Broken Steel, and the robot customization is incredible. Sorry about it, but I got my money's worth.

I used my level 258 troll character on Survival difficulty and these robots are still somewhat of a challenge in that they dish out a lot of damage.

I'm close, but not finished yet. I feel like there is more than fair value here. A small quest line and robot building was advertised. We got a couple of interesting dungeons in the quest line, robot building, new enemies, new weapons, new armor, new power armor and I've already had robots attack a settlement.

I guess Obsidian just does DLC better than, as all 5 of the New Vegas DLC's were great.

That being said, I am enjoying it so far, story is a bit meh, but I felt we needed more Robots in the Commonwealth and this DLC brought it, Robotics Expert is practically a must have perk with this DLC now.

I think your missing the point. Automatron is a robot companion add on, with a small storyline thrown in.

It's a $10 DLC. It wasn't intended to have a huge expansive story line. For the price, I'm actually pretty pleased with the amount of content. I expected the quest line to take about an hour, and instead it took about 3 hours. New weapons, armor, power armor, a new robot companion, and the ability to build as many other robot companions as you want...not to mention the ability to modify both Codsworth and Curie.

Yeah, I'll take that for $10. No complaints on my end. The second DLC isn't going to have any deep story lines either. Far Harbor is going to have a big and expansive story line with tons of new areas to explore. I love the big story based DLCs, but I love the smaller DLCs that add new features to the game like this as well.

Considering there's any story at all, it's already better than I expected, I also oddly like ADA, so call me quietly content... Also this far surpasses the abomination that was Mothership Zeta.

Also, you're going to condemn all of fo4's DLC before far harbour's release? That's just asinine.

I don't agree with them all being great. I wasn't a fan of the majority of Dead Money and Lonesome Road (gameplay wise) but they were absolutely all written better. From a $10 dlc to $10 dlc comparison (all NV story dlc were $10) NV beats the heck out of Automatron. But NV also didn't get a Far Harbour type expansion, from what it sounds like we're getting. Hard to compare I suppose.

Loving it so far. I wasn't expecting any story and I didn't think the robot customisation would be as good as it is, so I'm pleasantly surprised overall. It's given me a few laughs too - the dialogue with Jezebel is funny and there's an undercurrent of silliness throughout. No complaints here.

This.

Bethesda delivered exactly what they advertised.

The bigger DLCs are coming later.

Not to mention, Automatron coupled with the next DLC is gonna be friggen amazing! Fallout 4 meets rock'em shock'em! :goodjob:

Think of it this way, if there was a stand alone game of just the robot building with the ability to make them battle each other and bet on it.. Well I know I'd buy it just for that. The two DLC's coupled together give you that and much much more for less than £15. :ahhh:

Now we just need some genius to make a multiplayer mod like they did with Skyrim and that is going to blow the whole Rock'em sock'em meets Fallout meets pokemon thing wide open! Who's Shaun again?

Man, if you find this frustrating imagine how hard it is being the Bethesda employee who has to hold the gun to your head and force you to play it!

Oh, what do you mean that guy doesn't exist?

Well, you just look silly then! Freaking out like that! You should really relax.

It pales in comparison to Witcher's robot building DLC.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt doesn't have any robot building DLC's at all and all DLC's are released for free for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and only expansion packs CD Projekt RED sells for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.

Right now the Hearts of Stone expansion pack that's released for sale has more content to do than most DLC's than any other video game has gotten released for sale in 2015.

Honestly I was somewhat disappointed with the WAY that you collect schematics for your Robots (was hoping for a more engaging system, and disappointed is a harsh word here), but I agree with everyone else. So far really enjoying it, and I love that I can sort of trick the system and have extra pop members for my settlements!

It's a great DLC, yes the story is a little poor, but that was not was the DLC was designed for.

Spoiler
Oh and the computer logs about sticking a Deathclaw's head on Ahab... [censored] badass!

Not saying the Witcher 3 DLC is bad but you are not seeing the potential of building robots with this DLC and making them fight each other in the next. That is going to be nuts!

I can try to imagine seeing being able to build robot and making them fight each other. I'm trying to imagine a Robot Arena thing happening. You watched that show in the 1990's?

I still think it's a DLC that should of been released for free though.
