DLC-Let's Talk:Music

Post » Sun Mar 28, 2010 7:39 pm

The music in this game is a gem, with the exception of "It's a sin to tell a lie" (I can't even hear it! :sadvaultboy:) However, great music is great, but I hate listening to the same ones over and over. When I first got the game, I listened to "Johnny Guitar" at least 8 times in one hour. A little ridiculous. Now, I realize the DLCs are $10 and we shouldn't burden Obsidian too much, but wouldn't just 3-4 songs be good? It would help dilute the pool and perhaps I will only hear Johnny Guitar 4 times an hour.

Combine this with all the other future DLCs and that is around 12-16 songs over a period of time. Not too much of a burden, eh?

On a side note, In Dead Money, was it actually Dean Domino singing that song you need to put in the hologram projector?

On a last side note, good job J.E. Sawyer on pitching your musical talent into New Vegas! I thought Home on the Wastes was pretty hilarious. Shame it can't be put on the radio......:/

I was just gonna post something about music until i seen this thread! i LOVE the music in Fallout i spent every hour in Fo3 with the radio on and likewise for NV although Fo3 has a WAY better music list NV has some pretty nice tunes too. My personal fav is "Aint that a kick in the head" i would pay anything for new music content~ :fallout:

Isn't there a way to put your own music into the "Radio" play list?

Probably, if you are a PC player. I remember on F3 PC I had Tenpenny Radio. This isn't a problem for PC gamers, much.

Hmm, I was just listening to Radio:New Vegas and I heard the song from "Trigger the Gala Event". Was this song on that station prior to Dead Money or am I just a deaf bat? O_o

Yeah it's NV music.

I like the ideas of adding more music with each DLC, I'm tired of the usual stuff.

Maybe New Canaan will get it's own radio station ? I probably wouldn't just pay for a DLC with just 3-4 music tracks but if they included them with upcoming DLC it would be definitely some added insentive.

I'd love some killer rockabilly tracks.

That my friend is actually http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7kq1JQUhwVQ (he's the one in the chair at the beginning) who was said to be the greatest singer of all time many times by the likes of Frank Sinatra.

The song you heard Dean Domino (Dean Martin and Fats Domino reference I might add) "sing" is actually a song written by Johnny Mercer for the musical film Daddy Long Legs called http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ShBKQD7tgVE. It is now a jazz standard sung by famous jazz singers such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra, and Fred Astaire. The song is also on Radio New Vegas.

Just saying, if you ever have a question about music, let me know. I have all the answers.

There are some. Only some by http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D2P5j3XKh38&feature=channel_video_title though. Otherwise I wouldn't mind some Eddie Cochran, Gene Vincent, Buddy Holly, etc.

There is so much songs that are free to use now from that era that they could add a free DLC that would add a bunch of songs for Xbox and PS3 users, PC users have mods that help out for that. I remember hearing about one for Fallout 3 that added over 150 more songs that were free of royalties.
