DLC Map pack will you pay?

Post » Fri Dec 31, 2010 5:44 am

Only can count on valve for free PC dlc these days.

yeah right, how much do the hats cost in tf2?

I would have agreed with him up until Portal 2 with its day 1 DLC. $3 to give yourself a hat or flag to use in 3 hours of content with as much replay value as a pen and paper crossword puzzle.. lol.

On the map pack though, nobody with a brain is going to buy this. The sandbox is coming out soon. Buying a map pack DLC for a game with so many bugs, minimal anti-cheat and a terrible kicking system is just idiotic. All the Xbawks CoDzombies braught this on everyone by buying rehashed overpriced DLC. They actually ported maps from one CoD to another and made people pay for them LOL.

LOL ill probably be the only fool buying it.

That's a pretty sad take on the situation, Dog. Crytek treats us all like arse pimples after they get our money, but you laugh, call yourself a fool, and give them more money anyway?

On Twitter it says:

$9.99 for PS3

800 MS Points on 360.

Nothing about a PC price. Maybe it will be free?

Well to be a twit, or NON-PC, I guess you'll get to pay to beta-test, huh?

And actually, you can get several cheeseburgers for $10. So your enjoyment will actually last more than 5 minutes, unlike pretty much every single game I've played in Crysis 2.

But wouldn't it be funny as you're going to take the last bite of your cheeseburger a Crytek employee pops up out of nowhere and smacks it out of your hands and says to you OUT OF TIME. And then proceeds to run away with your soda.

All while I empty a ruger 9mm into his ass.(for the less knowledgeable, that's 17 rounds)

And no I'll not pay for maps.

Haha, 2 people buying and 11 not. I think it's pretty safe to say that ratio can be scaled up. Funny stuff, huh Crytek?

Oh, I'm sorry, was that your profit margin that just got a whole lot slimmer??? Whooops...

Everyone can thank the putz's at E/A, Crytek just do code, not skin their faithful PC crowd, by making this nightmare worse.

No I'm not buying any mappak, simply because it's for MP. I don't do any MP/co-op, at all! It's a waste of disc-space/braincells.

You should change the title " Let's take a vote" for another one :p

There is no reason to buy 4 recycled maps from single player . $10 for the re-used stuff? No Thx.

If these guys seriously release maps for money before they implement a basic anti-cheat system then I will ensure that everyone I know will never buy another shred of software from Crytek ever again.

Crytek, do you realize that they are better games coming this summer than Crysis 2?
I don't know who is so stupid to spend 10$ more in that bugged beta game.

No, I rather if they fixed the multiplayer issues first, whats the point of this DLC if I can't even sign in most of the time. And even if they fixed it I ain't paying for a DLC that has 4 lousy maps, no thanks Crytek.

"The Crysis 2 Retaliation Pack arrives on Tuesday, May 17 in the US (May 18 in the EU) at $9.99 (or 800 Microsoft Points) for all platforms"

All platforms means PS3, 360, and PC. Herp derp.

Crytek NEED to get their priorities straight i still cant redeem my Limited Edition Content from my pre-order purchase, Im at Rank 50 and still dont have it. DAY 1 Access to SCAR weapon SKIN, what a load of bull, ive had the game since the 30th of March and still no LE content. If they cant get pre-order limited edition downloads working right then what will happen with the Map DLC's, I can only imagine. The official Limited Edition download error topic that was posted by Cry-Tom has 94 pages worth of complaints and problems how is it that crytek can ignore that, its their fault they HAVE TO FIX IT! its likely that we will start to see similar posts in regards to the retaliation pack downloads. CRYTEK FIX ALL THE ISSUES FIRST AND MAKE A FULLY FUNCTIONAL GAME BEFORE U START CREATING MORE PROBLEMS FOR YOURSELVES !!!

You're assuming they let you play custom created maps on live servers. At this point it's safe to say that if they are charging for maps they won't let you. Where they can charge you for something they will. So don't get your hopes up.

here's the thing, you guys have already spent 60$, with all due respect we are supposed to receive this for free. If we don't, well we have no choice, we cant pirate, cuz we already made the "mistake" of buying this game.

So all we can do is complain to those deaf losers.

We are the community, without us, Crytek (or any other company) is nothing! But as long as people keep paying for ridicolous content (they actually split the game in slices and sell the parts not released at the beginning for additional money) they will keep doing this. Money is their religion. The only way nowadays we can express some kind of "democracy" is with our wallet. You don't like their policy of "milking the community" of money, then don't buy it. It's as simple as that.
I really enjoy the game (not having any problems so far as many of the community had.. guess I am lucky) but paying 10 € /$ whatever for content they could implent at the beginning but did not choose cause of "economic reasons"... no thanks.
Crytek, be different, be special and give this mappack for free !!! (just a hopeful thought I doubt they release anything for free cause as I mentioned before, money is everything for them).
