DLC Needs to allow you to continue with the game!

Post » Mon Dec 21, 2009 2:30 am

Then you know that the devs stated that there will NOT be a "Broken Steel type DLC" for New Vegas. Unlike Fallout 3, New Vegas has 4 different endings that change the Wasteland in radical ways. That is to say, it would take forever to make a DLC for post-game continuation.

I have some questions

1. If the game ends do you have to start every DLC with a new green character at level 1 with no guns or armor ?

2.SPOILER If they are not to make a dlc to pick up at the ending then why after I chose the independent ending did the robot say he was going to go and reprogram himself to be more assertive , implying I was gonna have to come back in a dlc and beat the robot army I created ?

3. could anyone here expand , tell us more of the three mentioned expansion packs ? broken hearts , lonesome road , and old world blues ?

I am confused as to why everyone that is so massively against having free roam would bother bumping a OP with each response. Creating 3+ pages of people telling the OP that it will never happen like all of you know what the developers are thinking and keeping the OP on the main page. Minds can change. specially if money is involved, Now I am not saying it will change, I am just saying that we as players can only go by what we have been told so far.

If you don't want to see these kinds of posts then just either report them or don't post in them. It's that simple. :shakehead:

Thats what I said in the last topic on this. I stated that if enough people want to continue playing past the end a company will do it because they are in the business of making money. If it will drum up sales they will do it even if they say they wont now.

Even when i stated that hardcoe players of the orignal were upset with a comment like that as well. Makes me wonder some times if people understand the concept of a business. Personally I wont say that there will or will not be a play past end type DLC until all DLC`s intended to be made for New Vegas has been. Things can change easily between one DLC and the next.

Its just like how all the people saying that you can reply from your save if you want to explore. I just cant help but think the same could be said about those that dont want to play past the end. If you dont want to stop playing there. That is just like Broken Steel, I see people [censored] and moan like little kids about how bad it is but yet they still bought it, but yet they still rip on it because it extended game play.

We enjoy the delicious, impotent tears of those who want free roaming.

1. Every DLC have a level required to enter

2. That Doesnt means nothing

3. DLC, not expansion packs

and other thing

No matter how many people wants to continue the game after the ending. it was stated that there isn gonna be a DLC for that, neither a Expansion Pack
I know how business works, but it cannot be done this time, There is a lot to cover, unlike Fallout 3 where there isn much to cover (and the water still have radiation)

Expect that from Bethesda

That is just like Broken Steel, I see people [censored] and moan like little kids about how bad it is but yet they still bought it, but yet they still rip on it because it extended game play.

I never bought Broken Steel for 2 reason

1. Playing after end, ruining the ending (well, making it worse)
2. level cap raised

Broken Steel and Mothership Zeta was the 2 worst Fallout DLC I ve ever played

Wait you never bought Broken Steel because of the playing after end and the level cap increase, but then you say that broken steel and mothership zeta was the 2 worst fallout DLC youve ever played. Am I reading that right? If so it sounds like you contradicted yourself saying you didnt buy it but then saying how its one of the two worst fallout DLC`s youve played.

I got the GOTY edition and I liked all of the DLC and the game. Wasnt real crazy about Mothership Zeta, but it entertained me and did its job so I cant say that its horrible or that it was the worse.

sorry guys but i think the nogamepastending option is kinda dumb cause if a courier kill another courier under the old world flag and blablabla and all that stuff become A LEGENDARY battle i want it to be remenbered by the other folks in the wasteland example (the end of the lonesomeroad)you come back to the mojave and mr vegas says "A package courier found shot in the head near Goodsprings has reportedly regained consciousness, and has made a full recovery. Now that is a delivery service you can count on" or "Persons are saying there's been little contact between traders from Nipton in recent days, causing concerns that the isolated settlement may be in trouble." it sounds wrong doesnt it ? I hope you get my point (sorry for my english) anyway bethesda said its not going to happen so deal with just think that all the people in the wasteland have a nuclear amnesia and like the old bob said everythings gonna be alright :disguise:

ps i miss you bob

Obsidian tried to make post ending gameplay during development, but scrapped it. So forget it.

i finished the battle at hoover dam and the game just ends. This happened in fallout 3 also but the broken steel dlc allowed you to continue and i assumed dead money would do the same but it didnt. i didnt save before the battle or anything so now in order to play the dlc i have to start a whole different game. im really pissed off about this. anyone know if the upcoming dlc's will allow you to continue with the game??

A DLC adds 3 hours to the gameplay...... I want expansion packs like Shivering Isles or GTA's the Ballad of gay tony... these are just examples.. GTA's wouldn't work... because you be different people..... :cryvaultboy:

Any proof of this?

From the vault:
Jason Bergman has stated that one thing that will not be appearing in a DLC is the ability to extend the game past the ending, á la Broken Steel.

I wish expansion packs were still "cool" to developers. But nowadays, that takes too much "time and resources" for them to be "bothered" by it.

Its very simple: SAVE before the GAME ENDS. It warns you. You know the game will end. Not that hard.

Having play after the end will mean removing the endings which will make the game pointless. It would also mean making four new Mojaves to show the changes for each of the main endings. Way to much work to show every single change made by the endings.

That has to be the best opening post I've ever seen in my life. It deserves a fishy stick. Sadly, I am out at the moment.

You got thirty hours out of O:A?

How?

Anchorage was like 3-4 hours for me, PL maybe close to 10 because I ran around a lot, Pitt 5-7 because I spent a lot of time in the Steelyard, and MZ 2-3.
