DLC Needs to allow you to continue with the game!

Post » Sun Dec 20, 2009 8:45 pm

i finished the battle at hoover dam and the game just ends. This happened in fallout 3 also but the broken steel dlc allowed you to continue and i assumed dead money would do the same but it didnt. i didnt save before the battle or anything so now in order to play the dlc i have to start a whole different game. im really pissed off about this. anyone know if the upcoming dlc's will allow you to continue with the game??

Jason Bergman has stated that one thing that will not be appearing in a DLC is the ability to extend the game past the ending like Broken Steel

nowhere does it state dead money will continue after the battle

So what you're saying is that you never saved your whole entire way through the game at all before the Battle of Hoover Dam? If that isn't what your saying, just reload an old save...

It won't happen, we have a higher chance of Bethesda and Bioware merging before New Vegas gets a Broken Steel type ending.

They warn in you the game. They warned you before the game was released, And they already said they will NOT be releasing DLC that extends after the story. I personally hated Broken Steel's linear story and thought it was better letting the game end as intended.

i usually save over the same file every time. i saved right before i went into the legate's camp but i still cant get out of the dam.

yeah its completley pointless. why would they just let the game end like that? there are so many more side quests and stuff after the main quest but u cant even do them becuase the game just ends!!!

New Vegas has a true ending that's why you can't continue after the Hoover Dam battle, plus what would you do after you conquer the hoover dam. Depending on who you side with the other group will be gone.

yeah, who cares if the other group is gone. they should let you at least continue on with the $9.99 dlc that i bought! and the side quests..

It would take a lot of data to have a broken steel type ending and the fact that you have 4 different groups that you can possibly side with. The way that the ending is set up it's impossible to have DLC after Hoover Dam unless they change the ending which would tick off the majority of the fallout fans, me included to a degree.
