DLC (rough) Idea Caesar's Legion

Throwing cannon to the wind for the sake of an epic battle is mod territory.

1) The enclave and BoS have deep, long term rivalry. If the BoS now absolutely refuses to even think of being at peace with the institute when they just encountered them, and when the institute have legitimate means to repair the wastes, there is no chance these two would work together.

2) In a certain ending involving the enclave remnants, Lanius sends hundreds of legionaries to destroy them, to nobody surprise sending in primarily melee combatants in football gear to dudes in power armor only achieves raising his soldiers mortality rate. Even without the enclave, the BoS have similar technology (especially since they confiscated their stuff from the Adams AFB at the end of FO3). In addition to having much larger presence and active role in the commonwealth than the east coast brotherhood, never mind those five remnant schmups.

Legion forces would be utterly destroyed, by either faction alone at that.

The part where it's just your headcanon. Anything could have happened, Caesar could be ruling Vegas in 2287. I doubt it, but it's possible. I also doubt there isn't an army calling themselves Caesar's Legion in 2287, though it may be smaller and more fragmented than it was in 2281.

I know the history. I was thinking more of a enemy of my enemy is my (temporary) friend type scenario. Where they are forced to into an alliance because the Legion managed to park a 100,000 man strong army on the doorstep of their territory. Would be better for a main story rather than a DLC really. I know it won't happen I just thought it was a cool idea.

I know I already argued my point, but considering 5 people with enclave gear were capable of killing hundreds of legionaries. In a direct war, you'd need a FAR larger number than 100,000 to be a legitimate threat to the west coast brotherhood.

Just say'in.

We don't know that. They might be recovering from their defeats in Fallout 2 and 3 in Texas or Canada for all we know. Personally, I prefer how New Vegas handled the Enclave. Members of the Enclave are still around, but they have retired from being a threat.

It all depends on what ending Bethesda decides to make canon or whoever makes the next Fallout spinoff game.
