Dlc to stop settlement side quest

Post » Tue Jan 26, 2016 11:56 pm

I think it would be better to stop Preston to stop giving settlement quest...there is no time for me to catch up on my list of quest and do what I love the most in bethesda games....explore! A madder had made a mod to stop this...and if u want to the settlement quest u have to find it...wich I would love to do! I'm a console gamer always have been..I'm not Xbox or pc hater..just love my consoles..I'm 41..so I started with atari...just love it! Anyway I like to put headset on turn off lights and it's just me and the world of exploring...but since skyrim bethesda has killed that part..if I don't do these side quest..feels overwhelming lol..tell me what u guys think?

The pc beta update seems to have reduced some of those Minuteman radiant quests.

Hell. Why the F should we pay extra for something that's common sense and should be changed through a patch?

it doesn't need a patch, you just send him somewhere, some settlement all by himself or whatever and you rarely have to deal with him then and you won't get bombarded with his quests,. its works fine, i have em at red rocket and i rarely deal with him and i don't get any quests from him till i'm ready, once i clear a setlement then i might go talk to him if i'm ready to do another settlement.

Send Preston somewhere? How? I've never had an option to send Preston anywhere, either b4 or after, taking back the Castle.

I say "no" to change the radiant quests. Just do not report in quests you have already done and you don't get any new ones. Simple as that. As for myself, I want to have such radiants available. There are other solutions too how to avoid getting these quests... Btw, you cannot just send Preston away, you have to make him companion.

Cheers,

-Klevs

That's what I do. I also keep my visits brief at the Castle because of Radio Freedom. Sometimes those radiant quests just sneak up on you.

I had the radio tower turned off so i wouldn't get any reports.

I loaded the pc beta version of Fallout 4 and that allowed me to turn the radio back on because with the beta the radiant quests seem to have been brought back into line.

Unfortunately there seems to be a side effect of the beta with my game. That is my favourite places where I like to poke the supermutants, Big Johns and Revere Satellite array also stopped respawning.

So i stopped using the beta and haven't been back to the castle since.

I like to sit atop the overpass above Finch Farm and take pot shots at the mutants on the array, causing them to retaliate.

Then the Finch Farm settlers go over en-mass and clean out the array while I watch.

Finch Farm and The Slog are my two favorite settlements. As I had mentioned in another thread, their close proximity with the Gunnars on the overpass, The forge and the Supermutants at the Sattellite Array, there are always epic battles to be fought. All it takes is a shot and SHTF.

You do know Preston is just a middle man between Settler and you right?

Even if you don't talk to Preston, Settlers who need help are still waiting for you and once their waiting timer runs out, you'll have a Quest Failed note stuck in your active quest list.

And I don't want the radiant quest to stop. I want it when we say "NO", then that's it.

he becomes available as a follower early on and you just recruit him and immediatley send him to tim buck two, you won't get the all the missions, lol, its annoying if he's in sactuary with you every 3 seconds he comes up to you, i use to get like 2 or 3 quests in a row, but now i have him somewhere i don't visit often and when i'm ready to do another settlement mission then i go see him where i have him at...i got the idea from someone on here and it works, you just have to recruit him first as a follower then send him to spectale island or someplace like that you don't visit, anyhere you don't go is the place to send him.

nope it works fine, i have him at red rocket, [i rarely go there] and i get FAR LESS radiant quests, you still get some from the settlements you have on occasion but its far less, when he's in your close proximity you get bombarded, i've been doing this for a few weeks and it works fine, without him around you won't get the backlog of settlement quests, plain and simple, i got the idea from someone on here, tried it and it works. with him in your close proximity every time you go to sanctuary he has a mission or two, without him around you don't get em, when i'm ready to do another settlement quest i go talk to him, but i can pace it, that way i'm not having to open up all the settlements fast, i take my time now and build up the ones i want and once they're all set, then i go to him for another one.

it is not that there are so many requests for help it is the fact that it are Always the same quests that ruining the experience

at one time i had the same settler aking my character to rescue her kidnapped friend nt one not twice but 3 times in a row and on top of that each time the exact same location the bodies of the previous rescuee were still there

it is annoying and if not in a dlc i am sure the modding community will come up with something

This sure as hell shouldn't be a DLC.

What it needs imho is a patch (or a mod). What happens now is Garvey auto completes the active completed radiant quest and immediately forces a new one down your throat. A much preferred option imho would be that Garvey enters dialogue and gives the player an option to opt-out/opt-in the continuous spam. Once he starts spamming those radiant quests just avoid him like a leper.

I just turned the speaker tower off. Finding the off switch for that thing was a godsend.

Send him to the Castle and assign him to the big mortar. That way you can still visit there and not be bothered.

Thanks for the reply.

As I said, in my experience over two games, Preston has never been available to recruit, nor has there ever been an option to send him anywhere.

Thanks again

Not that I've noticed.

Those radiant quests are so repetitive and monotonous that continually playing them may seriously affect your mental health.
