dlc is too expensive compared to the legendary ..

Post » Wed Sep 11, 2013 2:57 pm

dear bethesda,

i got skyrim the day it got out at full prize so it annoys me a bit to see that the dlc is still so expensive when you compare it with the legendary edition.

i understand that you guys want to make the legendary edition a good bargain for buyers but keeping the dlc so expensive that when somebody that got the game for the full initial retail price has to pay more for the expansions then when he would simply buy the legendary edition is just ridiculous in my opinion.

That's the price you pay for being an early adopter/buyer. More.

Its the same for everything. They always release a compilation of everything for the same price the game released at as their "final act".

Dear Arend,

It's the way the economy works. You will , in almost every case for anything you buy ( aside from a prebuilt PC ), get items cheaper when purchased in a package deal.

The alternative is to wait 'til the price goes down, which it will.

i get that a package deal is cheaper and i have nothing against that ... but now its cheaper to buy the full game again even if you already own the game then to get the dlc which is both a waste of my time and also costs Bethesda more in packaging and physical disks while not making more profit of me witch to me sounds like a ridiculous situation.

So, you're saying that it's cheaper to get the Legendary package, than it is to purchase the individual DLCs?

As people have said, that's just the way it works I'm afraid

All I can say is keep an eye out for DLC sales.

All three DLCs were just 50% off on Xbox Live - although I don't know which console/PC you're on.

I spent $60 on Skyrim.

Sold it for $20.

Bought it again for $60.

Bought Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn ($50)

I have spent about $150 on Skyrim I don't even use DG, haven't used DB extensively, and only use Hearthfire when I retire characters.

And now on Xbox 360 all Skyrim DLC and the game itself is like %50 off!

I think that's what he is complaining about?

He has the main game and all DLC which cost him 44 euros.

OR he has the main game and no DLC and he can either spend 44 euros, or but the legendary edition, which with his already purchase of the original edition, would cost him over 44 euros?

A price reduction of a mere 37.5% is hardly extreme.

It's not about what you have. It's about what you don't have and what's it's going to cost you to get it. If the individual purchases costs more, then it's rather simple to just go ahead and get the Legendary.

Just sell the original and keep on keepin' on.

Depending on his country, he might get balls all for the original?

I know here in the UK if I tried to sell skyrim i'd get like £5 for it?

I understand where you're coming from though.

Got the legendary edition.

You got to play Skyrim almost two years before I did. That's gotta be worth something.

As a PS3 player, I can't really complain. I got all the DLC for $22.

Agreed. Wait, save money. Why pay more for the same item? Sound.

At least Beth haven't gone down the 'Day One' dlc route. Important quest lines or character packages released on the same day as the main package.

Yet.

That's how it works out with game software. I bought Morrowind full price when it came out and then the two expansions at full price. What is the GOTY edition now, about $20? Same with every Grand Theft Auto game I ever bought.

That's just the way the game industry works.

It's always been like that. The first-day consumer group always pays more for the *privilege* of owning the product before the other consumer groups who will wait to get a deal.

Always keep an eye on DLC sales. Especially on PC one can grab them cheap every time Steam holds one of those big sales. Even I have grabbed Dawnguard and Dragonborn for 9.99€ each.

Skyrim - £45
Dawnguard - £11.50
Dragonborn - £11.50
Hearthfire - £3.50
----------------------------
Total - £71.50
----------------------------

I have money troubles and I think the DLC's are not expensive.

Call of duty DLC - £11.50 for 4 or 5 maps. That is too expensive. Skyrim DLCs offer plenty more hours. Hearthfire is £3.50 and that has more content than an £11.50 call of duty DLC.
