DLC? What a joke...

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:27 am

This game is STILL riddled with problems and you go releasing DLC, four maps, for £10? Before I buy that how about you fix...

Lag, Matchmaking, Killcams, Melee, Hit detection, etc..?

Just a few of the rather MAJOR things you should probably consider fixing before trying to charge people for extra content.

I loved the demo, yeah it still had the issues but I loved the potential the game had. Having bought it and played in on/off since release the updates have been woefully inadequate at solving the problems with this game. I'm hearing that Brink is another example of a game with so much potential and new mechanics RUINED by major bugs in core features.

Stop polishing your games after release, make the game complete BEFORE release. And if you can't manage that don't start expecting people to pay for crap DLC...

If you don't want the dlc, don't buy it.
I really don't get why people are attacking Crytek so much these days, because the only bugs I've had are so minor that it doesn't even matter if they're there or not.

@Sergio... were not talking about bugs were talking about those things detailed in the OP's post. Those are not bugs, those are problems!

The killcam is not a problem, the hit detection is not a problem, melee is not a problem, on the other hand lag is an inconsistent problem.

The things detailed in the OP's post, I have never had any problems with. Seriously, none at all. It can be hard to find a match sometimes, but i don't really think that's something Crytek can fix.

I agree with Sergio FIRST part.

Why did you buy it then? I can't grasp why you'd buy it, when you're aware of how it is for you.

First he said he didn't buy it, and won't be until the games fixed. Now I suggest those saying "oh it works fine for me what are you whinging about?" go read the 89 page bug thread.

SERIOUSLY 89 PAGES!!!!!!! and you think the problems are non existent?

You'll see that more people than not are having major issues, that is why they, and not the people having apparently zero problems,or maybe being too nooby to notice them have quit in droves.

Seriously do you people even read anyones posts before you troll?

Crytek can fix the problems of match finding by releasing a network patch so despite the other bugs, we can actually play online and many players might return, as many are just waiting for that alone. More players = faster game match ups.

Hell they've already released over 120mb of fixes for the PC version.....

The hit detection is fine, lag creates the delay. Killcams are fine, lag creates the missmatch. Matchmaking, I agree is a steaming pile of wet dog s***. When it comes down to it, $10 is to much to ask for 4 maps to ANY game, much less one that seriously needs an improved match making system (dedicated servers) before Gears 3 hits. Otherwise, it'll be "hey remember that laggy game we played while waiting for Gears 3 to come out?"

Haters will hate true enough, but dog s*** is dog s*** no matter how you step in it.

Not to mention they aren't even new geometry; they came straight from the campaign, which is on the disc that we've already paid for.

Ya and yet Major nelsons top 20 says otherwise. Its not even there.

http://majornelson.com/2011/05/18/live-activity-for-week-of-may-9/

You can say haters are gonna hate all you want, but the fact remains when the game crashes on a consistent basis, (and i have a slim xbox) not to mention the dumbass AI in the SP, there's no excuse for that.

Practically no one is playing this game which is why it takes a while to find a match and thats why it isn't in the top 20. Who are they selling their map too exactly? the 500 people left playing?

Fix ur game and people will play it. Launch a broken ass game in a already saturated genre, and this is what u get. Plain and simple.

the hit detection is not a problem

The hit detection is fine

I disagree completely. This hit detection favors spraying the target instead of precision aiming. The target is basically guaranteed a death if someone has him locked down in the aiming sites. Do I have any trouble killing a target? Nope. This hit detection basically won't allow the player to miss the target. Players can like the hit detection if they want, but they are only promoting shallow gameplay where the first person to see the target will usually win. No matter if they are in state of the art suits that proclaims that it can turn the tide of a battle.
It also ruins the balance of the weapons along with the modules.

What makes me not want to play the MP is the fact that people can use auto-aim in the MP. That has to be the stupidest thing I have ever seen in console MP games. Get rid of auto-aim in MP Crytek!!! Where's the competition when people can just auto-aim on me and nail me without trying?

This game is broken, and we are entitled to complain.

Crytek refuse to communicate and fix these issues so their forums are going to be flooded until they fix their unfinished mess.

If you are willing to 'see past it' that's your call, but the majority of us know that they have taken the money off us and bailed - that's not good enough.
