I just installed the dlc's from a friend's copy of the legendary edition with the intention to play them on my regular edition afterwards, but they don't show up under downloaded content in my game menu. Is it even possible to download the dlc's this way, or do I have to buy my own lege ndary edition of Skyrim?

DLC's won't show up.

The DLC's of the Legendary Edition are not compatible with those of the regular Edition.
You should buy the whole package. !!!
OR
your could download the DLC's separately, online from PlayStation Store (if they are available). Just keep an eye at the region. It should be the same as your regular Skyrim game.
