So.. DLC wont include level-up perks?

Post » Tue Dec 01, 2015 3:04 am

Considering the perk system is tied into vats.. Unless they decided to raise the cap to 15 and add a whole new bunch of stuff..

But im doubting that because 10/10 SPECIAL seems to be a fallout standard..
But thatd be breaking the tradition of the past 2 games.

Im not saying its bad - only in fallout 3 and new vegas i looked forward to the new perks ingame along with the gameplay - unsure if theyll add any additions in the sence of collectiable perks. Quite sad to see something like this go

They might, actually. Some people have claimed that they have 11 of a SPECIAL stat by using the bobblehead. Makes you wonder if that was intentionally left as a mechanic for later SPECIAL bonuses.

Now that you can increase your SPECIAL stats with points each level, they can easily add another tier of perks. That wouldn't surprise me one bit.

I thought I read somewhere that there are some perks that can only be found through magazines. If this is true and more stuff can be added to the perks already listed, why not add more stuff with DLC. The question is, what would they possibly add?

If any perks are added in DLC they will most likely be given by other means then leveling, either via magazines or by completing key objectives in the DLC quests.

You can get 'perks' by reading mags. You also choose a perk once you level. I would like to see some of the Fallout 2 and 3 perks back. I really liked the pointless perks; no added damage, health re-gen. ect. It may just be me, but I feel like the level 10 perks are not as 'intense' as they should be for maxing your stats out. Since there's no real level cap, more perks just make sense. Whether that's in the form on new mags to read or a new level of perks when you level up.

They could double the perks by having two to choose from at each level. There may be some redundancy, but they could add some more depth to some of the gameplay that way.

Instead of one perk per. SPECIAL stat? Is that what you mean?

Yes. Like for Intel 4 there could be "gun nut" and "quartermaster", which lets you create your own ammunition. Say .38 and 10mm at one star, .45 and .44 at two .50 and shotgun at three and four stars lets you do it in bulk. Breaking up the crafting could get you at least a third of the way there.

I doubt they would raise the special limit past 10, adding another star on a perk tree and giving it some increasing/new effect seems more likely. they could also add another final tier perk across the board.

Doubling up the perk choices for each special attribute sounds like the ideal way to procede. I was disappointed that there wern't multiple options to begin with. I'm guessing DLC will rectify this issue. Also we need craftable ammo. With as extensive as crafting is this time around it seems bizzare to leave that out. I'd like to be able to recharge Fusion Cores and energy cells too.

This would be absolutely awesome to as part of a DLC or as a free content update. I have too many partially discharged Fusion cores in my inventory.
