does any one actually want any race, any faction?

Srikandi, you said everything I wanted to say on this subject! Which race and faction are you going with?

*Edit* Nvm, it became apparent when I read more of your posts :).

Even more reason not to trust this queen. Anyone can plainly see kitties are not people. Plus elves don't have a history of treating people too well.

Edit: Also I have no problem with any race any alliance.

I am kinda in the I don't care boat, I like having options, I am not a purest on lore for any game

I play, I am more into will it be fun and add some more depth into the game.. I guess I we will see after launch.. I bought the Imperial edition, but really don't plan on playing an Imperial for a while.

This is TES. People don't have a history of treating people too well.

In my view it would have been unrealistic for the alliances to be 100% divided among racial lines. There have always been various races living in different provinces in the past games, and unlike many other games, the different cultures of TES have some depth and interesting histories. Racial alliances depicted in certain other games where you have all the orcs vs. all the elves, for example, have always struck me as rather simplistic, almost a caricature.

Limiting this to pre-orders seems like a good approach, however, as the majority of each alliance will still be comprised of the representative races.

I like it, simply because I want to be able to pick my own race for minmaxing purposes, Im not RP so I dont mind that i might be a bit twisted lorewise

Debating over somthing useless when thats not even part of the thread, you really have the obligation to target people and argue with them changing the OP's idea. Please stop trolling or you will be reported. This is not a post about America. This is the Elder Scrolls forums, i would have thought with 900+ posts you should understand that.

And since no one mentioned it yet, as far as being realistic, I don't really mind Imperials being an option for everyone (assuming it is true the Imperial edition is an upgrade after launch; please don't turn thread into pay-gate rant, that is for other threads).

If Cyrodiil is trashed, there would be plenty of Imperials wandering off to new homes.

I also think it will be good as a neutral balance.

TES has always been free to choose what you wanna do, faction locks were very VERY anti TES. So I am very happy with it,
