I've seen some civil constructive criticism on the forum, but a lot more over-the-top rage. I think it says more about the era we live in than the game.

If they don't like it how can they bother posting complaints here?

Who cares? If you like it, play it. You bought it, Bethesda has your money and you're having a blast playing it. I like pistachios but I don't need others to like them to validate my love of little green nuts.

Skyrim is a game that makes a great first impression. The criticisms are coming from folks who have gotten to level 50 or more and are noticing flaws in the game. Not surprisingly it took a week or two for people to hit the high levels and start to notice the flaws.

Finally, I wanted to say that criticism actually shows people's love and passion for the Elder Scrolls games. They criticize because they care. The worst thing they could do is uninstall and walk away in silence. Its the negative (and positive) opinions that will ultimately lead to better games in the future. Dozens of "OMG guyz! Greatest. Game. Like. Ever! AMIRITE?" does nothing to make TES6 a better game.

Hey now, I'm a Morrowind elitist and I LOVE Skyrim.

Really, it seems a lot of folks want a re-hash of their favorite game (Daggerfall, Morrowind, Et Cetera) and the reality is it just ain't gonna happen. Devs change, technology changes, and the market changes. Everyone needs to calm down and acknowledge that the good folks at Bethesda put together the best game they could for us.

Daggerfall was great, but to frank, folks who want to spend weeks at a time wandering around a giant randomly generated world and interacting with bland, cookie-cutter NPC's are the vast minority of modern gamers.

Morrowind was great, but once again, most folks don't like the idea of wandering into a random dungeon to check it out (That's half the fun) and getting hacked to pieces by vastly superior NPC opponents.

If you don't like the level scaling/one-piece armor/whatever else, that's your prerogative, but the excess crybaby griping is getting really old.

Yes, we know you Morrowind elitists don't like the game. But I've noticed so many negative threads on Skyrim that I wondered if there's anyone out there who actually enjoys the game?

Morrowind elitist here, strongly disliked vanilla Oblivion, loving Skyrim.

There is nothing but unanimous love for it everyone except this forum, so it's just something about this place really.

I love the game. The only thing that urks me about it is the map (which has no roads or pathways, only fog and floating icons showing the general vicinity of the landmarks I'm looking for), but hey, I'll get used to it. I love the Elder Scrolls, and I can't imagine that there is anything Bethesda could do to make me stop playing their games. Morrowind pulled me in and I've been addicted ever since. lol

Let's face it... 5 million people bought this game in the space of two days. I doubt most of the people on this forum right now, "haters" and "fan boys" alike, ever played Morrowind.

And most of those who never even played Morrowind are saying here how Skyrim is better than Morrowind. :banghead:

Doesn't stop me from noticing its glaring shortcomings.

There are things in the game that about the game i don't enjoy. but considering I have spent around 100 hours in the game and still find it entertaining I would say skyrim more then delivered what i payed for.. critic is good, as it help future tes games avoid certain pitfalls, but stuff like "Oh, I've had it this game svcks" after playing it for 20 + hours is just pure hypocrisy.

Skyrim is a amazing game by any standard, and the amount of enjoyable content we got, not to mention the insane game world we got, which can be improved upon by modders, more then justifies the price we payed for the game.

Disappointing as an Elder Scrolls game, but still quite good compared to most other games.

Dude, I love Morrowind and yet I also love Skyrim. Just because I like one doesn't mean I hate the other. Also, if people who like Morrowind dislike Skyrim that's their right and that in no way makes them elitists for speaking on their personal opinions of the matter. It's only when they start insulting others for not sharing that opinion and looking down on them, that they become elitists. It should also be said, that offering constructive criticism =/= elitism either.

You only see people who are having problems with Skyrim on the forum (that and some trolls who decided to peek out of the proverbial bridge).

Everyone else who loves/is loving Skyrim is playing Skyrim as we speak.

I'm just here because I decided to take a break after a 5 hour-or-so session.
I don't like this game, I love it.
