Does anyone care if C2 gets fixed?

Post » Thu Dec 31, 2009 3:17 am

I am that point where I don't really care about this game anymore. The non-caring is quite freeing, like overcoming an addiction.

Even if they fixed the issues and the game was perfect it wouldn't really matter. The gameplay is tedious. Same thing over and over. No level progression, no nothing. Nothing to entice you to play more. Coupled with the issues makes the game go from bad to worse. Is this the inevitable result of playing an FPS too much? or is it because the game lacks content? (something to keep you going). Should I really care about a video game so much?

In the meantime I'm starting a new diet and exercise regime, going out drinking more with my friends, getting back into my "spiritual" practice and start studying for my undergraduate degree. You know, start worrying and getting involved in "real" s***.

I've seen the light and I think the people here are blowing everything out of proportion (I have been a victim myself). Life is so vast and rich and yet we are all here complaining about a video game because we spent a tiny amount of money and we got less than we expected. Yes, to some it may seem like a lot but in the big picture it really isn't. Just get a refund if its that much of a deal, if you can't then accept it.

I don't really care if I receive angry and smart-ass comments, at the end of the day all you are is text on my laptop screen. I'm not going to waste my life answering stupid comments, so if I don't comment back to a stupid comment then assume that you won the argument. Better for everyone. I save my time in replying and you feel like a winner. Win-Win.

To answer your question about FPS gaming becoming dull over excessive play... Yes, I think that happens in all games. The only thing that ever really kept any single FPS game "alive" in my eyes was the competitive play and/or leagues and tourneys. Other than that, FPS games haven't really offered much new for a few years now of not longer.

i care... i think it has potential to be more entertaining and have a higher replay value than the COD games. the campaign is better and the online intrigues me more due to the suit. i guess i have more patience than most of the whiny girls in these forums.

sell your copy. no one cares.

I care as I still haven't had a proper session with the MP, and that is really pissing me off. I can identify with the feeling of over-playing a game, especially a FPS and I may have very well encountered the same with C2 had I been able to get beyond level 15 in any reasonable time-frame.
At the very least I've had some great games on things I haven't played in ages, L4D and Transformers for the most part. And the forum has given me plenty of distraction while sitting at the computer desk, but I digress, having other things to keep you occupied is the best way to avoid the worn out feeling associated with over-playing a particular game, be it study, an awesome book, going out with mates or seeing some live acts. Don't let a game distract you from that, even one that is polished and working properly.

Variety is the spice of life, and this slice needs some more pepper and chilli....

I'm starting to wonder the same thing, I haven't played the game in 3 days ..I used to play every minute I had free. Maybe I'm just not in a gaming mood, haven't played anything since Crysis.

No sir I do not. I used to tho... Used to come to the forums looking for patch information and was totally positive about this game and company. Now the new feeling as worn off and all I see is negativity for a company that won't respond to it's customers and a broken game that won't be fun for much longer. Like others said, I also play less and less as time goes on.

Anyone that has kept up with the forums since I started posting can tell you... my posts went from positive to "f*ck crytek" after about 2 weeks of 0 communication. During the demo I was sold on the idea that this would be the only game I'd be playing for the good part of this year. Now it's just a matter of whether or not it will keep my attention until brink comes out.

It's a good thing that you've moved on, video games like this do nothing but cause stress. Im starting to get to the point now of not caring too and just playing this game for the heck of it and just not caring because im playing it with my friends online, and having friends is all that matters to begin with, so I consider myself lucky that I can even have time with them. If Crytek doesn't want to do anything, then fine by me, they can do nothing all they want, It won't make the slightest difference in my life. Perhaps the same can't be said to them though, because I won't buy another game from them now since I find them as being a stressful game company who's unreliable and makes games that aren't fun. But that's my opinion based off of my personal experiences with them.

MORTAL KOMBAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am going to have some old school fun thanks to Crysis 2, I didnt pay anything for it and will get £35 trade in value to get the above for a £5 this morning.....Crysis 2 survived a month, its failings are a direct result of Cryteks shortcoming and lack of community recognition....#13 on LIVEs most played online games.....says it all

This community is dead, killed for the same reasons the game failed...Crytek

+1

Sound advice.

I am going to give gaming a rest for a few days to focus on other areas of my life, then I will try and complete FFXIII until/if a patch comes out for C2. I love FFXIII and used to play it all the time before C2 came out. Not everyone's cup of tea, but at least in the game you get out what you put in.

Amazingly enough I have started mixing up my gaming and playing lots of different games at the same time and I have to say I am so much happier. I am playing five or six different games right now. I find myself not getting all worked up playing one like I usually do. And I spend alot more time playing with my son. There are much more interesting and enriching things to do with your time.

You deserve the infamous 'cool story bro'

I havnt had the patience to read any of the long post your wrote before but seems your are intellegent and have a valuable opinion about the game.

Life is many things And people can interact with it how they want but i aint never heard a revelation come through playing a game, that being in a situation like this on crysis 2 before. Be it in another situation, which obv it is not else you would never have felt that you needed to say what you have...

Whatever makes you happy.

All your post is just txt... No one gives a **** about your life but your mother. Maybe you already know that. If you dont then you will when you hit your latter revelations... and or when you feel you discover more about your self when you start to interprit the somewhat projected world around you. No one cares.

Its a game... Go read Jung or something.

Unlockables and progression are great but the bottom line is the game fun? Gears of War 1 and 2 had no unlockables what so ever and yet I put more hours of play into those games than any other online experience, hands down. I love this game and I still play it alot but with the community dwindling I'm not sure how things will look in another month or so. I wasn't having most of the issues that people were posting about until about a week ago. I had been a pretty big Crytec advocate and defended them where I felt it was needed, but I am starting to feel myself slipping to the dark side. getting more and more frustrated with the shoot outs. and when I can jump into the GOW 3 beta this Monday, who knows what will become of my Crysis 2 obsession. Crytec will have to absolutely blow people away with a full patch that addresses the most crucial issues and glitches and do some major back pedaling to regain their community's trust. Hope my hoping and waiting was not all in vein.'

I care, but i dont put it before my life haha. I work out every night, and play games to relax and cool down afterwards. And i have a full time job. Albeit its a desk job, so thats why i get bored and post on the forums:) Im glad you are having a breakthrough in your life!! I quit caring that the game was broken, and im just looking forward to playing it when its fixed. Mortal Kombat has been a great relaxing stress relief because i can have friends over, have some drinks, and have fun and laugh.

And if i want to make myself feel like an fps god, ill just throw in Black Ops and go 25+ and 3 lol :)

I'm confused by anyone that says they don't care about something but then continue to post in the forums about the very thing they don't care about. I'm calling BS on everyone who does that in any thread for any product. You obviously do care, because if you didn't you wouldn't be here talking about it.

Don't forget tho, we don't all fall in to that category. Some people are just near computers the majority of their day. It's not difficult for me to keep this forum up and hit F5 whenever I need something amusing to read and mock. If this company talked to it's customers and didn't have so many problems and complaints.... I'd have to find another forum to read. Just saying.

I did however give up on both C2 and Crytek about.... a week ago. You know.... after 3 weeks of silence after selling us a half-broken MP game. If people didn't stick around after giving up... these forums would be all peachy with posts like "BEST GAME EVER." Which it obviously isn't. On a positive note... at the rate they're going... Crysis5 stands to be an amazing MP game.

You guys are obviously of a different breed then, cause when I'm done with something to the point of not caring. I don't stick around to police forums and spread a negative balance for future generations. I move the eff on.

I've got access to a lot of forums regarding games or products that I don't use anymore, but I don't post in them after I've moved on. Obviously that's just me though.
