Does anyone "Collect" items in Fallout 3?

Post » Wed May 02, 2012 11:03 pm

Hello,

I for one like to collect the "Rare and exotic" of fallout 3 and put them in my home, which happends to be Grandma sprinkles shack. I have my rare bubble gum and Gum drops on the table, my Talon company helmet, armour and that rare knife on the counter. All my vault uniforms in the corner. I have all the guns like the "Terrible shotgun" and the such ontop of the gun cabinet. I also have things like Eulegy Jones hat and Reds bandana and jumpsuite.
Its quite exciting looking for thoes rare items out in the waste and adding them to my personal collection.

Oh, I forgot to say I even have the rare giant teddies and the such from the ridiculous democracy place.

Does anyone else collect the Rare and the exotic items in the wastes?

Once I had 100 in any skill, I would bring back any skill books I found for it and put in on my crafting bench or on the bobble head stand or other places as decorative books. Eventually I ended up with a library of 2 of many of the skill books and some pre war books as well carefully placed in one of the shelves in my living room..

I collect every Intact Garden Gnome I can find. Also, I cannot pass a Nuka Cola Truck. Of course, I keep all the unique weapons.

I too, collect intact garden gnomes, with a small twist. I only collect the unique, varied size intact gnomes. It svcks because you have to transport them one at a time, but well worth it. I plan on getting the unique chess set some time in the future.

For some reason, the last time I got the chess set, when I dropped them, they were still small. I had to pick them up again and drop. I use them to line the edge of the porch at the Megaton House.

I collect too. Weapons, outfits & parts to make unique weapons. I wish I could display things, but its too random when I drop things.

You never used the "Z" key to pick items up after you dropped them. They hover around in front of you till you hit the "Z" key again.

Well small items anyway. Some items are to big to pick up and manipulate easily. Like dead bodies. But I hear you can drag em around aways.

I just found the snipers shack, Quite a cool place, some regulaters came and I made the outside of my new home all colourful

I am moving about the house, the little rad roches were a nice addition, but they were in the way and fluffy got out of the cage and bit me so I blown her head off.

I prefore Grandma sparkles shack as with the looks, but then again this shack is alot better because It has alot to offer.

So far I have my talon company suvineers on one table, red's suvineers on anouther and some teddies and other rare items around and about. I will put all my mutilated limbs in the rad roach cage. Its looking like a home :)

The best thing about this game is the amount of items.

There is a mod available that will let you place items wherever you want: http://fallout3.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11532.

I don't see a "Z" key on my Xbox 360 controller. Also I don't have my Xbox 360 online. Thanx anyways.

I too like Intact Garden Gnomes. I can't believe they're not worth more. I like collectin' Stimpacks. I've got over 300 of them.

My days of collecting are almost at an end. Played this game way too much.

Now I'll just stick to the 10mm pistol on the counter, surrounded by pre war money. Pure gangster look.

Yes, I collect about everything that’s kind of interesting. My characters have been in this a long time and are all maxed out, so what they don’t sell or trade for caps or ammo, they mostly keep around the Megaton house someplace. There is more loot than there are vendors to buy it all.

Things we collect: skill books, pre war books, pencils, unique weapons, scrap metal (for The Pit), Sugar Bombs for the Ghouls (but I never get around to trading with them), Nuka Colas & Quantums, odd clothes-hats, water, Stimpaks, weapon making parts, two sets of all armor and weapons - where available, lots of spare weapons and armor to repair with, pre-war books, tons of ammo, and lots of stuff I don’t remember right now. About everything except the Raider and Enclave armor and weaponry.

Okies fair enough , Ya wasnt sure what your platform was. But would that be similar to the XBOX 360 controller for windows?
If so ,looks to me like your right joy stick when clicked in, will pick up an item , then reclick to drop. This is done when you see the activate icon appear. It will then hover infront of you and be manipulated with that joy stick.

I want them to stay small, that's why I only carry one at a time. I try to place them all strategically around the house and in my various wasteland hideouts.

Hey Big Daddy , is that correct for how you manipulate items for placement with the XBoX controller?

When I played Fallout 3 on my computer I use to collect weapons, Clothing and other items and make my megaton home or tenpeny tower home look like a real home stocked with food, water, books and other stuff. Yet when my wife accidently broke my computer so she says. I could not replace the computer so I got PS3 Fallout 3 and found that you can’t really set stuff up unless you got lots of time to do it. Trying to just set a shelf up with 6 beers in a row take forever do to you just don’t have the same control you have with a mouse on a computer. So with PS3 I just collect weapons, clothing and put them all in a desk, file cabinet or locker.

Are slaves considered Items? I collect a lot of those. On a serious note yeah, I definitely collect all of the unique weapons and stash em in my safe house. Out of all of them I might use one or two and the rest are just for show.
