Or that a 10mm gun is far more threatening in the hands of a player. Lets face it, baring one or two legendary prefixes that gun is utterly useless. It will become even more so once 5mm ammo has weight.
The weapons in the game are not very satisfying in their lethality, effectiveness, or intended combat role.
The issue will compound itself under certain circumstances such as,
1) Ammo Weight
2) Added Mobs via a mod
3) Survival elements that demand that the player carry with them food, water, and meds.
One could hope that with the new survival system, that the minigun will get a boost, since it already have build in disadvantage in the form of weight, both of the weapon and the huge amount of ammo you need for it. I wouldn't hold my breath tho, so mods may be the way (there are already several on the Nexus)
Actually, the Minigun in Fallout 3 and New Vegas had a big cartridge underneath.
I think there are many more important things in life.
The thing is, it *doesnt* make up for low damage. The formula on how damage is calculated takes that low damage, and nerfs it further into the ground.
It's unrealistic at so many level. Sure.
But I don't care as long as it looks believable, since this isn't Real Life Simulator or Real Gun Simulator.
So basically you're saying hey look flying pink elephants, that's so messed up they're pink
It'd be funny if the only way to wield a minigun was to have a companion run along beside you carrying the ammo box and feeding you the ammo.
I've posted this before, but really, the insignificant things people complain about and label as "breaks immersion completely"
Its a computer game.
A fictional, alternate timeline, computer game.
As someone stated above, this is not "Real Gun Simulator"
?I mean i can have a fistfight with a two-headed cow while carrying 100 telephones, and your immersion is completely broken by the mag on a hand held minigun not being quit right.
"My minigun breaks immersion because of the amount of ammo it holds."
'Please allow me to take the 10,000,000 bullets out of my pip-boy and put them in this sardine can for storage...'
100% immersion
I've posted this before too, the overuse of "my immersions" is starting to get to the point of comical absurdity.
Sometimes, you just have to accept it's a game, not a post nuclear apocalypse simulator.
