does anyone else still love bethesda despite all the bugs/le

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 2:20 pm

The only problem I have with the game is the missing LAA... Srsly, it would be so simple to satisfy me. ^^

I don't really mind the guilds getting even more cut, if the dungeons and the gameplay make up for it.

I still love Bethesda, and besides, all the people who bash them will still buy TES VI and/or Fallout 4. I said no more after New Vegas for PS3, but here I am, playing another Bethesda game.

I haven't had any (serious) bugs or let downs.

People always freak out about bugs when these big games come out like they were born yesterday.

Haven't you ever played one of these before?

Yes.

Bugs happen. RPGs are buggy. Open World games are buggy. Guess what happens when you combine the two?

Yes. They've created a living breathing world unlike I've seen in many other RPG's.

Keep 'em comin', Beth.

I still love Bethesda.

The modding community will address a lot of issues. I hope Bethesda addresses the PS3 problems ect soon.

Yes. Vsions and Todd are my favourites from Bethesda though.

I love the games they do more than any other developer. MW, OB, FO3, SK... loved them all in different ways. Bethesda makes games really memorable, grand, beautiful, atmospheric and that really adds that extra feeling that really takes you into this new, different world where you can do anything you want (almost). There are few games that do that, and in such an excellent way.

The bugs and sometimes poor programming are nasty and not welcomed, but I can overcome.

Despite the fact that Bethesda have clearly released a very buggy game with some questionable design additions and retractions, and despite the fact I have come face to face with some game breaking bugs and some personal niggles with certain aspects of gameplay myself, I can't help but still love Bethesda for who they are and what they do. I find the amount of complaints focused directly on Bethesda being incompetent in some way laughable - that is how it is supposed to be with Bethesda - they release a buggy mess of a game, with the potential to be absolutely legendary, and over time the issues are teased out, the mods are added, and in the end we get something very close to a perfected elder scrolls experience. I admire them greatly, despite their faults, because to me they are the ONLY DEVELOPER doing anything truly original and great in the games industry.
Bethesda is like an eccentric grandad who sits in the corner by the fire smoking a pipe at the family christmas - his mental health is questionable, and what he says might not be completely true, but he sure as hell has more interesting tales to tell than those insipid children rolling around on the floor, or that drunk mother ranting at the dinner table about Jane's sisters mothers boyfriends aunt's life threatening toe operation.

What bugs / let downs? I'm sorry, but you are a tiny minority. For the vast majority, this game is mostly bug free and it works great!

I agree with you whole heartedly

BUT

I still think the play-tester should be sacked

Of course I love Bethesda, this is their greatest game yet. Only downside are the bugs, but that's to be expected from Bethesda. I love them for their faults and for their strengths, the latter of which greatly outnumbers the former.

I expected a buggy release, so no let downs there. I expected a grand, detailed world to explore with loads of content, nope, no let down there either.

I bought it for PC, so i expect there to be mods, lots and lots of mods. You better believe I won't be let down there either!

Love Bethesda, Love Skyrim. I /comfort those still having issues with Skyrim.

I have had pretty much zero glitches on my end. Vanilla Skyrim straight out of the box I have had a grand total of ONE CTD in 100 hours of play. Some weekends when I decide to do all nighters Skyrim could be running for 7 or 8 hours straight without a single hiccup.

I still like Beth(TES) despite being disappointed in many of their decisions and the wall of silence they have perfected through the years. One BIG reason why I still like Beth is because of the precious tool: the CS(CK)

sorry, are you trying to be comedic? Because it is quite obvious I was using the term love in the more casual way, in the same way someone might say they 'loved' chocolate. Quite suprised I actually had to type this out, though it was rather obvious.

I only profess love for two things in gaming - Bethesda and Sid Meier. Both have their flaws bug-wise, but both make the best games out there with regards to my tastes in gaming.

Skyrim is by far the cleanest game Bethesda has released. There were a couple of very isolated issues that caused crashes (I'm pretty sure one was fixed with the 1.2 patch; not sure about the other yet). The rest is just scripting boo-boos as far as I can tell. If they aren't fixed in a patch, they'll get fixed after the CK is released. I'm not thrilled with some of the changes Bethesda implemented, but am trying to take them in stride, and mostly succeeding.

Beth is still one of the few developers that I'll get first day purchaces for., only other company might be Valve (Bioware used to be there until DA2 :cryvaultboy: ). And besides that Skyrim has been the most bug-free Beth game I've bought. Only problem I've had is a couple of freezes since day one. :foodndrink:

Of course.. I never expected the game to be perfect out of the box and they make amazingly creative and fun games. Plus they've amazingly been able to stay afloat in a world dominated by mega corps like EA. You have to respect that.
(I never expect any game made by anybody to be perfect... they all have bugs. At least it's better than in the old days when your only solution was to find a workaround.)

No, I'm really disappointed at Bethesda.

Consolized UI, out dated engine(can't even use more than 2G of ram or more than 2 threads of a CPU), 2007 graphics(only reason you think the distant view is better is due to the constant snow and fog, wait for a sunny day and look at Oblivion-quality distant view), short and lackluster guild quests, Mage dumbed down, poor treatment of PC version(PC patch has to wait for console patches' certification, seriously?), etc.
