Wow, thanks for the suggestions. I'll definitely look into this.

Same with me. I tried playing Oblivion on my laptop with mods and it ran okay, though I felt uncomfortable hovered over my laptop after an hour or so trying to play it. It's funny how PC gamers say a controller feels unnatural and console gamers say gaming with a mouse and keyboard feels unnatural. I suppose I could try mapping a controller, though I doubt a joystick would have the same accuracy as a mouse. With some of the Skyrim quest mods I've seen, I'm willing to adapt and make the transition, lol.
Yeah that's what I was thinking, though it will probably be another 2 - 3 years before we hear an official announcement about TES VI. The problem is, the PS3 version svcks, at least for me. Mid - late game, the favorites menu starts popping up during heated battles, switching out my weapons and my weapons sheathe / unsheathe on their own. I've even brought new controllers so I know the problem is with Skyrim.
Skyrim's vanilla graphics are not too big of a deal for me. I'm mainly interested in some of the quest mods like rebuilding Helgen, minor tweak mods like better maps, menus, and that City Guard Overhaul mod since Bethesda locked out the extra guard dialog for whatever reason.
Besides console gamers who just recently started playing, I thought everyone else would have either moved on to PC by now or just shelved it since Bethesda never patched many of the bugs still on console, especially for PS3.
If the thread bothers and annoys you that much, simply ignore and skip it. Problem solved.
Also I just recently started browsing these forums again after taking a brief hiatus. I barely pay attention to sigs let alone filing them to memory.
Obviously you have never even researched all the mods available.
I did.... read the Nexus and dreamed of the day I would have my PC... had a whole list of mod's ...compatible mods... that I downloaded the same day I hooked up the PC... When one of my friends would mention a mod, I would check it out...and "track" it. I knew exactly what I wanted... after 3 yr's of reading....researching.
After getting fed up with the mods I was using crashing my game at about level 35-40 (6 characters in a row), I installed fresh and tried playing vanilla. It lasted until I fought Mirmulnir at the Western Watchtower. I had to start adding mods again, if only to fix the bugs.
I could play vanilla Skyrim again. I don't think I'd last long, though
Of course i haven't. Not even close. The nexus alone has literally tens of thousands mods right now and most of them needs special care and extra time to make them work with each other. It must be pretty difficult for any of us to research ALL the mods AVAILABLE. Not even a no-lifer can archive this huge feat.
I'm not saying that, but I can definitely say without mods, I would not have played over 2000 hours.
I played for 4 yr's on 360...and I could again if I had a 360 still ( bit the dust and haven't replaced) I choose not to.
I haven't played vanilla Skyrim since about late 2012. Though I'm now primarily gaming on PS4 since late 2014, my PS3 is rarely used. I will jump back into it eventually.
and now you know why people are still playing Morrowind and Oblivion...as their primary games. Depending on how good...and where TES6 is set...I'll probably play it a while then come right back to Skyrim.
I'm sitting in Morrowind right now. Got some GREAT mods that make it look so beautiful and well ... the magic system. So unless Bethesda straightens that out and makes it right again, I'll very much still be in Morrowind and Oblivion
LMAO.... yeah, we can all only hope, but some of the best features from previous games were striped from The next one...so. Plus with my limited Data it would take me awhile to be able to download all the yummy mod's... so... back to Skryim til really nice ones come out... like... all the unoffical patches... Alternate Start. Because I play sooo slowly, I have not even downloaded, let alone played all the "new" quest content mod's that I am interested in.
4000 hours later on Skyrim and a pretty damn good PC rig ready to be set up I think I'll recreate my characters (stats and quest progress, too) on the PC and continue their story there where I have more freedom.
I know... doesn't that just svck... and work just soooo get's in my way... and the husband...and dog's...and well life!
