Meh. In my opinion they looked best in Morrowind. Oblivion's Dark Brotherhood's outfits were too obvious, except the black hand robes.
Skyrim's Dark Brotherhood apparel reminds me of medieval court jester outfits or renaissance harlequin wear. They are also quite obvious.

I liked Morrowind's Dark brotherhood apparel because it actually looked practical: light armor, goggles & dark dyed but not pitch black.
If worn without the helmet, it'd be quite mercenary looking in the lands of Morrowind. Oblivion's or Skyrim's DB apparel does not have that same 'ordinary' aspect about it.

But that's just my two cents on the subject, take it with a pinch of salt.

The dark brotherhood armor would look fine if you made your character look like michael jackson.

He wore something similar in one of his videos.

Can't say I mind. Females have been wearing skimpy clothing since beginning of video gaming, so why not men?

In oblivion they had skin tight pants that, when the sun was shining on them, looked like a waxed apple.

Agreed. Some of the skin-tight pants men wore really...um...eccentuated (sp?) their butts.

In skyrim the DB look like a bunch of ironic hipsters. In Oblivion they were just evil badasses in cloaks.

Yeah the wet-suit they give you is lame, doesn't look like an assassin outfit unless they are into spearfishing sharks

I agree here, the DB clothing is way too obvious. I also very much dislike the tightness of it.

It's not practical in any sense really; you stand out like a sore thumb, you don't have any real storage space on the armour and it doesn't look like it'd even offer much protection in the sense of its construction; the thieves' guild armour is still obvious, but is far more practical-looking.

my opinion is that their armor doesn′t fit in. It looks like the nanosuit from Crysis. Oblivion had a better design by fair. Nevertheless the nightingale armor is a good redemption

the blood red highlights really bring them into "high camp" territory.

really, i cant take the DB seriously as a guild. OB pushed the bounds of a "serious" assassins guild. but skyrim is a full on parody. the armor is so horribly impractical, the people do nothing but make puns and dead baby jokes... and really, a crazy jester and child assassin? there is no way the DB was made for anything but irony.

I thought they were tight due to it being a lot easier to be sneaky in tight clothing. If that is the case then the DB outfit works perfectly, as assassin's are supposed to be sneaky.

Though if you don't like it then why not search around the DB area and find the DB robes set, it's the same clothing that the old guy wears.

It definitely looks too tight, silly and gay. Not something my character would ever use. They could've included some type of more bulkier looking heavy armor variant - my nightblade has no problem in sneaking successfully in heavy armor, thanks to specific perks.

I have edited the title to be more suitable and deleted a lot of posts commenting on it. I think there are a lot of members here who are posting just to comment on other members mistakes rather than the game and the game content. Says a lot for them and their reasons for being here doesn't it?

I did all the DB quests - well nearly all as I got fed up with the Night Mother's stuff as it does drag on. The armour was efficient but as some of you have remarked, does not match in with the part of a deadly assassin (or is that cold blooded killer) so once I finished I have dumped it in my house and gone with something more suitable for the environment those "tights" were too cold round the nether parts. :)

Assassins don't normally kill people with just stealth, they kill them with also camoflage and deceit.
This is what the Dark Brotherhood apparel lacks and the fact that it's so obvious that people who see it- should be on high alert.

I would have expected the outfit to identify as a member of the brotherhood, but at the same time: be practical and not stand out.
However such ideals do not seep into the minds of concept artists who create such outfit sets, so we shall never get such armour.

Definitely agree. And not to mention in a cold climate like Skyrim it'd also lack the furs needed to keep warm while on a chase through the enviroment.
Perhaps in the next TES they'll think 'practical' over design. Pitch black apparel in the middle of an Elsweyr desert would be just plain wrong in so many ways.

By night mother stuff I assume you mean the quest where you keep getting random contracts? If so that never ends, it keeps resetting for a never ending money maker
