does anyone try and read all the books

Post » Wed Dec 14, 2011 12:55 am

The 2920 and A Dance in Fire series are by far my favorite TES books.

All of Jarth's books are awesome. From Purloined Shadows, Feyfolken, to The Argonian Account. He's hands down my favorite author in ES games.

I try but not the boring ones, some are good but the one wich tells about all the previous rulers got boring. lol like every septum, i like books though cuz they give depth to the world

I attempt to read most of them. The problem is I can't always find a series in order, and maybe I overlooked something, but it's annoying that there's no Vol. 2 of "Rising Threat" in Dragonsreach (even though Farengar has the other three volumes).

Slowly I want to finish them all. I store them in my house, unread in one drawer (MUCH easier to manage than shelf) and read in another drawer. When I'm in the mood I read a few. Once I read them all I will shelve them. I enjoy most but some (especially v1 v2 v3 etc) are kinda boring.

I started off reading and collecting every book I came across but have given up on that idea. There are a lot of books out there lol.

Since I've read every book from Daggerfall to Oblivion, the only books I read through in Skyrim are the ones brand new to the game.

Though, there are far, far more books unique to Skyrim than Oblivion had; so I am quite busy catching up on 300 years of Tamrielian history :P

Not in game - always feel like there's so much else I need to do lol.

But someone did compile every book and release them for the kindle and nook. There's a thread on this forum somewhere. Best thing ever, because now I can read at work and enjoy the added depth that the books add, without it cutting into my play time.

I read most of them. I really liked the one called "Chance's folly". If I recall correctly it was in previous elder scrolls games too.

Yes I read a lot of the books in-game and collect everyone that I can find.
They are worth reading I think, some are really good.
I got the "Books of Skyrim" mentioned in another thread it's an epub format, it has all the books from the game in it, it least it says it does, learning alot of good history right now :).
Let's me concentrate on my quest more. But I will at least look at very book I can find in-game and collect them all.

There is a .mobi compendium of all the books. It's over 1200 pages, I doubt I'll read it.

I've read most of the books from previous games, but I re-read most of them, and all the new books (though it depends on the character). My current character has a full library in Proudspire, and a fair collection elsewhere.

The scary thing is that I have the shelves mostly sorted by subject matter, so all Dwemer books go in a particular shelf, for example.

The Rising Threat books always get a read and re-read and re-read again. I shouldn't need reminding why I impale the face of every Thalmor with whatever sharp object I have handy, but I do it anyways, to strengthen my resolve to violently purge them from the face of Tamriel. No, beyond Tamriel. If I could do unto them as Nerevar and Dagoth Ur did unto the Dwemer, I would do so.
