Does Brink need an update?

Post » Sat Feb 05, 2011 5:09 pm

I haven't gotten the game yet and I wont for a while because my Xbox broke and is being sent for repair but I've been reading around and most of the criticism come from 3 things.

A.I.
Lack of missions
Lag.

Just wondering, when my Xbox gets repaired which'll probably take a week because its disc tray is broken (kicked in crooked shall I say). Think by then, there'd be an update fixing these things or adding some bonus missions as like a free DLC pack? Because you wouldn't want people paying to fix the game's main criticisms, well in my opinion you wouldn't. And I'd like to play my game with max re playability and enjoyment.

There is no DEV up on the forum but we are all hoping so. I honestly think it will be out by this weekend or by Tuesday of next week. Again, wishful thinking.

if news of a patch isnt released soon, i will be returning this trashy game. it is 100% unplayable on 360 because of the HORRID LAG. i have perfect connection, full green, and yet, i cant even play.

It's posts like this that make me re-consider paying of the game.

It isn't the game and it isn't your connection. Apparently they use that [censored] Peer-to-Peer method of hosting games I hate. You're probably getting some guy with a crappy connection hosting a game on the opposite coast of you.

It's not unplayable, it works just fine for me. But I've had a couple games I had to leave because of the lag.

I do agree that the AI needs to be fixed. The enemy AI works in groups while the ally AI scatters off into different directions in the Challenge mode. In Campaign the Ally AI will go the same route every time.

Its simple, when we get into a laggy match we back out. Its hardly worth complaining about or even staying in a laggy match, seeing your not penalized like other titles, just back out and find a new match. I can name 10 games that have been out for years on "independant servers" that still lag. No technology is perfect...

So be patient, buying something and taking an immediate loss on it is kinda pointless. Just because you have a "perfect" connection doesnt mean the host has a "perfect" ping or there isnt latency in the connections due to other people with less fortunate connections.
