Does letting Colonel Autumn live make any difference?

Post » Wed Aug 24, 2011 5:32 am

I noticed in my last game that it was possible to persuade CA to abandon Eden and according to the wiki to persuade him to stop the war*. Does letting him live make any difference to the rest of the game and where does he go?

*If Raven Rock hasn't been destroyed but how is it possible to get to final confrontation with him without doing so?

It makes absolutely zero difference. Raven Rock get's destroyed regardless by the Brotherhood of Steel and Autumn never appears again like the coward he is.

Besides, he had already abandonned Eden. IIRC you actually convince him that without Eden he is doomed to fail anyway.

However, during Broken Steel's "two weeks later" transition Elder Lyons remarks that "he just let him walk away like that!?" meaning that Colonel Autumn survives if you let him go.

I made a companion mod of him, though, in which you can get him after sparing his life :)

Why are all the Enclave supporters hating on Autumn?

I let him live, because he surrendered & i think he even confessed of his doings wrong. (Dont remember)

Because I don't like the way he took his men to their deaths before simply admiting he failed and walking away; he got everyone under his command killed for a cause I most certainly don't support. That's why I don't like him.

I don't "hate" Autumn per say. The main reason I would is because of his little "haha Raven Rock go boom" holotape in his office. That and his actions against Eden and his seeming willingness to waste Enclave lives holding the purifier.

Otherwise, I like his southern accent (reminds me of home  ) , his tendency to say things like "By the authority of the President, this facility is now under United States Government Control", his impeccable fashion sense, and his personal laser-pistol sidearm.

In a perfect world, Eden and Autumn would have worked together on one plan. But that wasn't the case.

But yeah: OT letting him live makes no difference. Its anyones guess where he goes if he survived (I would guess that he didn't).

Not all hate him. Rather, we got one particularly loud one that hates him :P

I would say that Autumn is the most popular Enclave member, liked by many those who don't even support the Enclave in general.

Oh now I wouldn't say that. :D Eden's got quite a bit of cross-Enclave love as well. I've heard quite a few people say "hate the Enclave, love Eden".

Its Malcolm McDowell. B)

On one game, my character took the FEV vial, left Raven Rock, and it didn't go boom. Even the enclave radio continued. You can't go back in RR, but it is still there.

I like Colonel Autumn, but not President Eden. Part of my Eden dislike is I don't like machines in charge of man. Part of it is Eden's plan of mass murder. Colonel Autumn had so much potential which was wasted by Bethesda. I can see him abandoning the Purifier when it is so obvious he has lost, so he can regroup and take it later. He wouldn't even have to wait that long. While Liberty Prime and the BoS are stomping around the wasteland he could take back the Purifier and wipe out the Citadel. Two vertibirds of troops could do it right after Prime is blasted. They could capture Elder Lyons and Scribe Rothchild if they wanted. I think it would be better than killing them. Hostages and not martyrs.
