Just curious. My girlfriend plays on adept and isn't getting very good items or much gold on corpses or in dungeons' final chests. I play on master and am seeing much higher gold rates and decent items, but I'm 6 or so levels ahead of her, so maybe that's why?
Confirmation one way or the other would be great.

P.S.-Also, anyone on the 360 having issues with their companion just disappearing and returning whenever they feel like it?

No, and it makes exploration pointless. If you want to roam a never-ending 3D land that looks like something out of the early 2000's there is always Second Life.
