Does Morrowind work fine on Xbox 360?

Post » Tue Aug 14, 2012 2:05 pm

Hi, this is my first post here

I was thinking of buying Morrowind for Xbox to play on my Xbox 360, but a lot of people say it is very glitchy and doesn't run every well, and it drops FPS and stuff.

Has anyone had any experience with this? I'm wondering whether it's worth getting it. I can't get it on PC since I don't have a computer (I'm using the iPad right now).

Thanks in advance for any advice

As you already read, many people experience problems like very long load times and frequent crashes.
Some people say it runs fine, just a bit slower than it should.
If you can find a cheap copy, you don't really have anything to loose.

If you have an old original Xbox around, use that instead.

I would not recommend any Elder Scrolls games on a "not-pc". That is my opinion.

However, Morrowind is very good for low end computers. My computer is the lowest of the lows of today, but Morrowind runs great!

So I would recommend buying a cheap laptop or desktop. Be sure that it has Pentium 3 at least. Windows XP OS. The other system requirements should be fulfilled after the first two are met.

Thankyou for advice. I don't have an original Xbox, but I guess I could put up with long load times. As for frequent crashes, if it's not constant I might be able to put up with it but it might be annoying to lose some saved progress.

I'll think about it. By cheap, are we talking below £200? Right now that's what's looking realistic for me.

OP just said that PC was not an option.
I would recommend it. Morrowind is too great a game to pass up, even if you're stuck with the Xbox version.

Just save a lot! And make more than one save file.

some areas are unplayable, the final boss fight played like a slideshow for me personally, along with some of the mage towers. The rest of the game played pretty good though. Make sure you get the goty, as your saves will not carry between the regualar and goty editions if you ever wanted to upgrade (personal experience)
