And that still leads to balance issues. As well as people not listening to you because you appear to be incapable of writing a paragraph without insulting your audience.
You're my new friend.
Hai! *hugs*
(hates arena style pvp)
I love the argument of "it creates balance issues". What a joke.
What this really means is: "it reveals balance flaws". Because in larger battles, class balance is less relevant. Because larger battles are just AE spamfests. So what you are basically saying is.. "Don't put in small scale pvp, because then they will have to balance the classes".
News flash: If small scale pvp exists in Cyrodil already, then there will be cries for balance(and there should be, why should the game not be balanced?), adding an arena or instanced pvp match won't change this.
likewise never been a fan of large scale pvp except if its open world while questing . Did WvW a lot in GW2 and got bored rather quickly.Though i am open to the idea of small scale pvp and dueling.
I agree and disagree with you lol. Not everyone that is against Arena or set up controlled fights is a no skilled zerger. I could go into these with my friends and be very strong. But my problem with them is they dont accomplish anything and have no purpose on the war. now compare that to me taking my same group out on the battle field. roaming around taking out enemy roaming groups, picking of the straglers trying to get to the keep seiges, Doing hit and runs on the back of enemy zerg. All of these things are very tactical and take alot of skill. BUT we are also contributing to the alliance war and having a huge impact on helping our alliance on the battle field.
In DAOC there was a thing called roaming groups, you went out and looked for enemy groups, it was all about who"s group was out and about, tracking them down on the battle field and taking them out without getting flanked yourself or lead into a trap. This system was far more competative than any arena or warzone instance match. having to track your enemy added so much more than just being placed in an Arena with them. this same system will be in ESO, i have already seen it in the betas.
I dont know why people think that just because there is a zerg out there, that you have to be apart of it or ONLY fight it. you dont!
Its not because they are spam fests, its because things average out. Your not put in a situation where your grouping against all healers or all dps. (Which happens all the damn time in small scale pvp, at least in swtor)
And small scale pvp also leads to, oh your a dps? We cant invite you because we really need a
That sort of crap would happen and often.
1v1 shouldn't be balanced to the point that every class/build will be evenly matched against any other class/build. That isn't actually balance, because it removes PvP roles and tactics. Which are harder than kite-kite-kite-kite-kite-stun-hit-kite-kite-kite-kite-kite-kite.
yeah dont disagree, but smaller scale pvp , especially arenas offers heart racing gameplay which i dont think large scale pvp can offer
I personally don't want it because then they have to balance everything 1v1. In my opinion it ruins everything trying to do it like that, because there are a lot of people that like to..cry.
My idea would be to, say, that there is a whole tree of arena skills, not just one line. When people go into the arena they level those arena skills, and can't use them out of the arena. Then arena skills would level similar to other skills. Then everyone gets to pick from the same trees. That would reduce the amount of whining. Then it wouldn't be much fun anymore though.
By the quality of your posts, the fact you seem brash and abrasive and you clearly don't know the difference between insulting and not insulting people, I would urge you to find another game as I fear this game isn't for you.
This is merely an observation and not sent with any malice at all. Please take this in the spirit in which it is meant.
There is nothing more heart racing then trying to defend a keep for 45 minutes then seeing the gate about break open, falling back to the lords room and looking over the edge and seeing 80 enemies coming storming in, then waiting in the lords room at the entrance with others like you are the 300 and the last hope saving the castle.
I did get that feeling the first time i played WvW in gw2. But never got it after that. I havent had a chance to test cyrodil pvp yet, so who knows i might change my mind, but i am still skeptical
Actually, I won't. Zero interest means zero. I don't give a rat's behind about protecting my homeland, keep battles or anything else PvP-related, and I've grown to dislike PvP and the overall PvP player community in MMO's over many years of gaming.
I'm exactly the kind of player you do not want in your campaign, because I won't help at all--a complete waste of a slot. I know it sounds bad, but I'm just being honest. If there were a campaign rules set that opened up Cyrodiil with no PvP allowed, no emperor could be crowned, no keeps ever fell and no guild stores ever opened up, I'd join it in a flash just so that I could explore the vastness of Cyrodiil and enjoy it at my leisure without interference.
I hope you have an absolute blast if you get into PvP, I really do. I hope everybody has a blast doing whatever they enjoy in ESO. I expect it will be one heck of a great game for one and all, and I can't wait for March 30th to roll around
I'd be happy with PvE arenas. They could be repeatable dailies for each province. You could fight random mobs from that province, maybe even arena specific elites.
I quit any game that I am not having fun in.. fun is a subjective term, I think most people would quit a game that is no longer fun to them..LOL
Fair enough, I wont try to change your mind, just curious what pvp community from what games made you feel that way?? Unless it was from the Darkage of Camelot community it was vastly different. The community and the alliance pride in that game made the PVE /PVP game format mix very enjoyable. And ESO looks to be the same
well low lvl arenas or battlegrounds could be implemented . they can be traditional bgs or a micro of the cydrodill so players can start getting into pvp easier.
They could ditch this lame boost at release and favor a low lvl bgs till 50.
