Does 'Open Cities' cause longer loading in Whiterun?

So all my load screens when I enter caves and normal buildings outside of Whiterun are really short. But every time I enter or exit a building in Whiterun, the load screen is WAY longer. Probably 10+ seconds vs the normal 2 seconds. Is this because the Open Cities mod? My thinking is it's trying to load open world 'Skyrim' and the city of Whiterun at the same time.


Can I uninstall Open Cities safely, or is it gonna cause a lot of other problems?

Have you tried other major cities or is it just Whiterun?

I uninstalled the Open Cities mod and it's back to less than a second loading times in Whiterun. ????

Sounds to me like there is actually a valid reason for cities being instances.
